Some changed more than others, and she counted herself lucky to be among those left with a lucid mind, in spite of her appearance.
Some former humans like her were working desperately to maintain some level of city services, to keep the lights on and the water running, but it was a losing battle. Each morning she loaded up her backpack and went looking for others who had kept their minds or any items that might help in maintenance or research. Today, she was hoping to find a mostly-intact pharmacy, not just for medicine, but ideally some sort of cream that could alleviate her...chafing.
