Week 03 - Storytelling
October 19th, 2023 - October 26th, 2023
Refine your story using the different techniques from the presentation (III act structure, story circle, want vs. need).
- Ask yourself: Who is your main character? Why do we identify with her? What is the central conflict / theme of your story? How is the conflict resolved? How do you manage to increase the tension over the duration of your story?
- Plot your story on Dan Harmon's story circle and write a brief explanation of what happens at each step. (You can use the list on the next page.)

Week 03 - Assignment
Plot your story on Dan Harmon's story circle and fill out these steps with your own story.
- You: A character in their zone of comfort, ESTABLISH A PROTAGONIST
- Need: wants something, SOMETHING AIN'T QUITE RIGHT
- Go!: so they enter an unfamiliar situation, CROSSING THE THRESHOLD
- Struggle: to which they have to adapt, THE ROAD OF TRIALS
- Find: in order to get what they want, MEETING WITH THE GODDESS
- Suffer / Take: yet they have to make a sacrifice, MEET YOUR MAKER
- Return: before they return to their familiar situation, BRINGING IT HOME
- Change: having changed fundamentally, MASTER OF BOTH WORLDS
