Train Sketches

Im lucky the people drawn on the right most page didnt move too much. Usually if I start drawing someone then they move or get off the train, I just finish it using my memory and what I know, as a base.

I cant say I used any tutorials for drawing from life. But life drawing class definitely helped though. I havent heard of a tutorial for this but I guessing there is something out there. There are some things I think might help you. In the life drawing class, we used to start with 30 second poses to ease into it. This really helped with speed. 30sec is short so we wouldnt get deep into detail. Just capture the things that matter, gesture, line of movement, the form, etc. It also might help to separate body part and study them separately. I recommend - http://artists.pixelovely.com/practice-tools/figure-drawing/ If you dont have access to a life drawing class/workshop, you can use this as sort of a class.

These are great! Even though I've had a few life drawing sessions before of nude models, I only recently started trying to do quick sketches of people in real life without them noticing. Compared to nude models, I find that quick sketches are harder to do, sometimes I can't even recognise if they are human or not. Are there any tutorials for quick sketches that you may have used in your past?

I choose who to draw by who ever is most visible and/or who isnt facing directly at me, not by whether they are business men or not. As you can see with the girl on the right. Its more like they are choosing me haha. Taking the train in the morning or night here, business men and women are a lot of what you see.

May I ask why you chose businessmen? Surely there must have been others to choose from?
