The Prologue

"It's all right, I'll get used to it after a while."

After a series of incidents, Ayaka lost her other leg. She is now DAK. She suffered mental shock during rehabilitation and making prosthetic legs on the other side. In the meantime, she cut her own hair short.

"Are you sure you're all right?"

Saten took care of Ayaka while she was in the hospital.

Ayaka was originally very optimistic and active, and now she has overcome the depression she had shortly after losing her right leg.

But somehow she became more passive and calm than before. Perhaps because she could no longer move as quickly as she used to.

"The doctor said it would be more convenient to use a cane than a crutch. I'm old now."

The reason she had to wear crutches was to act faster. But now it was impossible, and she must use a cane that would make it easier for her to change her posture.

When she returned to her daily life, she was as active as before, unlike people's worries. She tried to pretend to be all right.

But sometimes her heart gave way. Every time she does something unlike before, she can't do it. The most difficult time for her is when she sits down and gets up.

"I'm going to stand, Don't help me. Ugh...!"

"Ayaka!"

She used to be free from this behavior. Because she had a right knee. But not anymore.

If the chair is high, she can get up immediately because of the prosthetic leg function, but if the chair is low, it won't work.

At times like this, she had to get up in a different position. She had to stretch one knee in advance to support herself and the other.

"It's almost done... Ouch!

"Be careful!"

She unconsciously tried to force her right knee, but she fell forward. Fortunately, Saten received Ayaka.

"I never thought it would be so hard to live..."

"Don't cry. If you cry, me too..."

Ayaka and Saten began to cry again.
