QA #16 Maintenance vs. Service

Taking care of  the customer is more than just fixing their gear.

Pardon the audio, some moron forgot to hit play on the mic. That, would be me.

QA #16 Maintenance vs. Service

Comments

As someone who worked at a transmission shop as an R&R tech, and apprentice rebuilder for a decade..I was 100% behind you until the comment about the rear main seal.. It sounds like common sense, and it may not give you any trouble 9/10 times. But that one time it does...WILL make you reconsider.

$20 to keep from doing the same thing twice.... come on man you take all the ARRRRG out of everything!!

wish i had you as a teacher, some lucky apprentices you have, cheers

Alex Newman

But, have you PERSONNELY made these mistakes? Asking for a friend......

Man I wish I had a class like that.

Ben Dean

I never gave them a choice on the rear main it was in the est they just didn't know it .

Lessions learned the hard way when you can only afford to do all automobile repairs yourself. Like installing a new clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing and input shaft bearing/bushing when a transmission is removed from a manual shift car. Installing all new freeze plugs for an engine rebuild is another one, especially those that live inside the bell housing and those installed up under exhaust manafolds. Replacing/rebuilding the oil pump when an engine is dissembled.

Excellent. Sadly, in most commercial establishments, the service has gone by the wayside.
