Oscars? Who's Oscar? Oscar's what?

Michael Walsh

This was a delight. I remember reading lots of essays by Cooper, like in Art Forum. Can anyone recommend a book of his that doesn't center on horror and gore? (I don't know what his books are like but Bret did mention horror and gore.)

BUtterfield8

So.. how did you like the Oscars? :)

BUtterfield8

Palahniuk would be awesome.

I wonder what Africans -of any nationality or ethnic group thought of "Black Panther"? As for me, I was happy to miss it. I refuse to be preached at, and when somebody even hints at playing the race card, I fold and walk away. These days, all the cards are race cards. Why does Hollywood obsess about it? Because -how hard is this to understand?- progressivism is a religion. And virtue-signalling is its sacrament.

Think you'd need to pay for a PodcastOne subscription to get access to all of them.

Great show as ever, guys. Just wondering if there is a complete library of episodes available online. Some of the older ones are on YouTube but I've never been able to track down certain episodes mentioned from time to time by Bret (John Carpenter, Molly Ringwald, Matthew Modine, etc.) Thanks!

Wishes do come true :) I was asking about Dennis Cooper as a guest in the Christmas episode. I enjoyed this quide a bit - as alway. although I feel in the last thrid the interview got a bit away from you with very long loose quations and jumping back and forth between topics a bit much (for example I wished you talked a bit about the sluts with cooper instead just mentioning how much you liked it and jumping to a rather lengthy quetion about corporate censorship with regard to his blog). The conversiation kind of lost the flow it had picked up earlier. Still good episode.

Love BEE's vibe on this one. The Black Panther controversy seemed to open a door to reflection that enabled him to crystalise his thoughts around this cultural moment.

Nathan Williams

Bret is the reason I will start finally reading Edith Wharton .

Michael

No.

Brent Minder

Probably one of my favorite episodes of all the series. Great final answer on the Eagles. Was waiting for someone to finally mention county rock (bonus points for burrito bros and gram parsons and the Byrds!!!)

Brian Rooney

Do you have a list of the authors mentioned? Joy Williams? Gary Lutz?

Brian Rooney

Great. Loved hearing this. Dennis’ quick, brief dismissals of Fight Club and Call Me By Your Name, perfect.

Darren Ankenman

I really liked this intro, got me excited cause it was rock on how things goes. I mean everyone is racist but it doesnt mean people dislike each other at all, people love each other. A mean person is mean whatever race/religion. You know. Yeah.
