Bret, your loving expository on Boogie Nights was so beautifully eloquent and incisively articulate that I felt compelled to annoy a few friends by texting them the link to the teaser and following up to make sure that they had actually listened. Hope you get a few new subscribers. Please keep doing these. I am anticipating them with genuine excitement, regardless of the subject matter, and am enjoying these pods more than most good movies/books

2018-08-07 23:05:26 +0000 UTCNow that’s what I call a podcast! It needs a sequel that includes a review of “Star 80”.

2018-08-04 06:21:41 +0000 UTCBrilliant stuff about Boogie Nights and Body Double. PTA has been a favorite ever since with Magnolia being his best work IMO. Inherent Vice had all the potential to be a great movie but the strange plot killed it for me. Maybe makes more sense after a second viewing? I would love to hear your take on the underrated Alpha Dog from 2006 with a surprisingly stellar performance by Justin Timberlake and a masterclass interview scene with Sharon Stone. Thanks for bringing us the best podcast! Always interesting and poignant no matter the topic.

2018-08-01 15:29:26 +0000 UTCThoroughly enjoyed the whole show. Some very interesting insights. Bret - you are testing your audience - as you did in your novels. Way to go. How about a monologue some time about one or two of your novels & their afterlife - that aren't all over Instagram?

2018-07-31 20:05:46 +0000 UTCBeen LOVING the new season of podcasts! Question, perhaps this already exists and I don't know about it, but is there a playlist, say on spotify, of the music used on the show? If not, would be awesome to access a curated BEE podcast music playlist. Great music selections!

2018-07-31 19:57:36 +0000 UTCLoved the Boogie Nights and Body Double analysis. Have you ever done one on American Psycho or The Rules of Attraction? Would love to hear about how much you were involved with those productions specifically, how far off they veered from the books and your reaction upon first viewing them...and how you view them now.

2018-07-30 22:32:30 +0000 UTCBig studios don’t have to anymore. You notice in the opening credits for ANYTHING you see now has like 5 production companies listed? It’s as if the Indy studios and prod. cos. do all the leg work and risk, and a big studio picks it up at Sundance.

2018-07-29 01:47:55 +0000 UTCFascinating interview. He was the perfect guest for Bret with his mixture of porn industry gossip and the overall frankness about his life. Definitely going to pick up a copy of his book

2018-07-28 08:22:57 +0000 UTCpornhub and their affiliates are such cheap, lousy tube sites, where clips are rarely longer than ten or twelve minutes. For full movies eporner is far superior. and then the video search engine for Bing is very useful too.

2018-07-27 13:58:34 +0000 UTCI rewatched this the other night and I was thinking the same thing. Would a major studio ever put money behind something like this? Seems impossible.

2018-07-26 21:50:08 +0000 UTCI was a PA on The Canyons and this guy was one of the nicest, most genuine people I met on the set. Good taste in music too — talked about his love of black metal if I remember correctly.
