MHA:MPR CH23 - USJ INCIDENT (1)
Added 2024-12-28 21:40:27 +0000 UTCA week had passed, and it was now the day of the USJ incident. Shiro sat in his seat, resting his chin on his hand as his mind raced with anticipation. ‘It’s finally time,’ he thought, excitement flickering in his eyes. His gaze tracked Aizawa as the teacher strode into the classroom.
‘My aim is to skyrocket my XP, but I still have the issue of potentially receiving kill quests,’ Shiro mused, his brow furrowing. Burying his head in his arms, he thought, ‘Argh... this is so frustrating. I’ve barely been getting quests recently, and when I do get one, it’s something absurd...’
Aizawa stood at the front of the room, his perpetual exhaustion etched into his face. “Now, for today’s basic hero training,” he began, “we’ll be preparing you for disaster relief scenarios—from fires to floods. During this exercise, you’ll be supervised by myself, All Might, and one other.”
“I’ll be right at home in a flood, ribbit,” Asui said, her calm tone cutting through the murmurs.
“Seems like another tough day...” Kaminari muttered, rubbing the back of his neck nervously.
Mineta groaned, holding his head in his hands. “I hate swimming! It’s only cool when it’s in a pool with ladies!”
“I’m not done speaking,” Aizawa said curtly, silencing the chatter instantly. “Continuing on, it is up to you whether or not you wear your hero suits. Some of them may be ill-suited for this sort of activity. Also, the training site is a bit remote, so we’ll be going by bus.”
“Miss an opportunity to wear our hero costumes? Yeah, right!” Kirishima shouted, his voice brimming with enthusiasm as he jumped out of his seat to retrieve his gear. The rest of the class followed, their excitement contagious—even to Shiro.
‘Kirishima’s right about this one. Fighting villains in a comfortable and stylish suit? That’s something I wouldn’t miss out on,’ Shiro thought, grabbing the briefcase with his designated number.
As Shiro made his way toward the locker room, he heard a voice call out to him. “I think he was talking about your hero costume when he said some might be ill-suited for this activity,” Jirou teased, her hand covering her mouth as she stifled a laugh, her other hand pointing toward him.
‘What am I, a clown to her?’ Shiro thought, narrowing his eyes slightly.
After changing into his hero suit, Shiro headed outside with Midoriya and Ida.
“I’m ready to rescue some people!” Ida announced, his usual enthusiasm radiating from him.
“Mhm!” Midoriya nodded, his determination evident.
“Yeah,” Shiro said simply, though his mind lingered on the events to come.
Before long, the group arrived at the bus. The seating arrangements were tight, leaving Shiro to end up right next to Jirou. ‘This whole bus ride is going to be her clowning me...’ Shiro thought, leaning back in his seat.
“Shiro, I was wondering...” Jirou began hesitantly, her body language betraying her nervousness as she avoided his gaze.
“Wondering about what?” Shiro asked, tilting his head slightly.
In a low whisper, Jirou asked, “Are you interested in... you know who?”
“Huh?” Shiro replied, confused.
Jirou subtly nodded toward Uraraka, who was sitting a few seats away.
“You mean Uraraka?” Shiro asked, his voice even.
Jirou nodded again, her expression cautious.
Shiro sighed. “I see her as a younger sister. We grew up together. I’ve never seen her in that way. Why’re you asking, though?” he said, his eyes narrowing slightly in suspicion.
“I was just curious. You two seem to hang out quite often,” Jirou said, her tone casual.
Nodding, Shiro replied, “Yeah, well, it’s nothing like that.”
Changing the subject, Jirou asked, “So, are you excited to be practicing your rescue skills?”
“I guess,” Shiro replied. ‘I hate to break it to you, but this is going to be a battle, not a rescue session,’ he thought.
“With your monstrous quirk, I don’t think anyone would want to be rescued by you,” Jirou teased, smirking.
‘Here we go again... Just as I predicted,’ Shiro thought, exhaling quietly.
After some time had passed, the bus pulled up to the training site, and the students filed out. Shiro stepped off the bus, his eyes widening as he took in the massive dome-like structure ahead of them.
‘Wow... That looks incredible,’ Shiro thought, staring up in awe.
Jirou, standing beside him, couldn’t help but share in his amazement.
“UA IS SUCH A FINE INSTITUTE!” Ida yelled, his voice full of passion. “SUCH EXCELLENT ARCHITECTURE!”
“Now, now, let’s get on with it and go inside. We don’t have all day,” Aizawa said, motioning for the students to follow him through the large gray gates.
Inside, the building was exactly as Shiro remembered from the anime. Different zones for various disasters stretched out before them, each area meticulously designed.
‘Thirteen,’ Shiro thought, his eyes landing on the hero dressed in an astronaut-like costume waiting for them inside.
“As you may have noticed, there are different zones,” Thirteen began. “There’s the flood zone, landslide zone, conflagration zone, and more. Every disaster and accident you could imagine is present here. I call it the Unforeseen Simulation Joint.”
“It’s the Space Hero Thirteen!” Midoriya exclaimed, his excitement palpable.
“OOH, I LOVE THIRTEEN!” Uraraka added, her voice brimming with enthusiasm.
Aizawa approached Thirteen. “Where’s All Might?” he asked.
Thirteen hesitated before answering vaguely, “It seems he’s reached his limit and is taking a rest.”
“The height of irrationality...” Aizawa muttered. Turning back to the students, he gestured to Thirteen. “Let’s get started then.”
Thirteen raised a hand. “I have a few points to make first.”
Turning to the class, Thirteen began. “As you all are aware, my quirk is called Black Hole. It can suck in and tear anything apart.”
“And you’ve used it to rescue many people!” Midoriya chimed in.
“Indeed,” Thirteen agreed, nodding. “However, my power is very dangerous. Just as it saves people, it could just as easily be used to kill. Some of you in here also have quirks with similar capabilities.”
Almost instinctively, Jirou, Kaminari, and Mineta all turned to look at Shiro, muttering, “He’s talking about you.”
Thirteen glanced briefly at Shiro before continuing. “It only takes one wrong move with an uncontrollable quirk for someone to die.”
Midoriya flinched, guilt flashing across his face. ‘He’s right,’ he thought.
Thirteen pressed on. “During Aizawa’s quirk test, you came to learn about the potential of your quirks. And in All Might’s battle training, you learned the danger your quirk can pose to others. But in this class, you will be learning how to utilize your quirks to save lives!”
Shiro’s heart fluttered briefly at Thirteen’s words, but he quickly shook it off, remembering the imminent danger. ‘The event is about to be sabotaged,’ he thought grimly.
Bowing, Thirteen concluded, “Thank you for listening.”
The students clapped, the speech resonating deeply and filling them with excitement.
Aizawa waited for the applause to subside. “Great. First off—” he began, but was cut off by a sudden noise behind him.
Shiro’s eyes narrowed. ‘It’s begun... They’re finally here.’
A swirling purple portal expanded rapidly, a grotesque hand emerging before a pale, disheveled head followed. Shigaraki stepped through, his unsettling grin sending a chill through the room.
“HUDDLE UP AND DON’T MOVE!” Aizawa barked, spinning around to face the threat. “THIRTEEN, PROTECT THE STUDENTS!”
Thirteen snapped into action, urging the students to bunch together.
“What are those? Don’t tell me there’s more of those robots—” Kirishima began, his voice trailing off.
“DON’T MOVE! THOSE ARE VILLAINS!” Aizawa shouted, pulling on his goggles. His voice was laced with urgency.
Shiro, seemingly unfazed, turned inward. ‘System, I won’t be killing anyone, so give me something reasonable,’ he thought, his focus momentarily shifting from the chaos around him.
[There are two Missions Available.]
‘And they are?’ Shiro asked.
[Quest 1: Capture Kurogiri. Reward: 30,000XP.]
‘And the other?’
[Quest 2: Take out 10 Villains! Reward: 20,000XP.]
‘...’ Shiro stared at the notifications, contemplating which option would be best to choose.
