January 2024 short story poll
Added 2024-01-28 11:39:17 +0000 UTCTime for this month's short story poll! Sorry it's so late this month- it's been a rough month, writing-wise! (Life enjoys getting in the way of writing.)
Also expect an upcoming "State of the Aetheriad" post where I discuss my future plans for the Known Multiverse, my upcoming trilogy More Gods Than Stars, and this Patreon! (Don't worry, the short stories are gonna keep on coming! And I've got some BIG plans...)
- Old Comic Stuff (Non-Aetheriad): Includes Basilisk Street and the pitch (including art) for Shattered Earth, an ecoterrorism comic. Basilisk Street was a graphic novel I wrote around 2011-2012. Pretty standard "secret government agency" story in the first few issues, specifically an agency dedicated to monitoring, controlling, and shutting down exotic weaponry- linguistic weaponry, death symphonies, grey goo, that sort of thing. After the first few issues, though, it gets weird fast. Whenever readers vote for this one, it will start a run of all five issues over the next five months- but that won't interfere with regular short stories. So the first Basilisk Street month, you just get Basilisk Street 1, but the next five months, you'll get Basilisk Street issues and Shattered Earth alongside the regular monthly short story. Bonus value! (You'll probably notice some early versions of ideas that later found their way into Mage Errant- it's why I avoided publishing Basilisk Street until I finished Mage Errant.)
- Alarm Clock: (Non-Aetheriad) Weird little second person horror story that sprung into my head almost fully formed while struggling with a (thankfully rare) bout of insomnia.
- Stone's Not Real (Anastis): Sequel to Sand's Not Real. The Tomb Guard's job defending the Tomb of the Sleeper Beneath The Sand might be one of the most important on the continent of Ithos, but it leaves them with endless time to argue silly philosophical questions.

Hope you're okay!
