June 2022 Short Story Poll
Added 2022-06-09 02:29:51 +0000 UTCSo, changing up the drill a little the next few months. These are the final three short stories I intend to include in the first anthology, so you're really just picking their order. We'll have another vote next month to pick the second (and by elimination, third), so just vote for whatever you want first. (The short stories will be arranged chronologically in the actual anthology, so The Castle Thief will be near the end, Beyond Fire's Grasp somewhere in the middle, and Highvale's Throne near the beginning.)
- An even bigger change, however? Once these three are done, I'm going to start offering y'all short story choices from Aetheriad worlds OTHER than Limnus. Going to start offering you short story options from Iopis (The Wrack), as well as the three worlds from Tongue Eater- Apoptis, Kemetrias, and Limnus. There will be more Mage Errant short stories in the future, too, of course, so don't stress that!
And now, without further ado:
The Castle Thief: Solintus the Patient is ironically named, because he’s anything but patient. What he wants, he gets, and he’s sent his servant Lane to the frigid karst city of Calo’s Watch to negotiate the purchase of the city’s fortress. Lane has a week until Solintus arrives, and one way or another, their master is taking the castle away with him. Something is rotten in Calo’s Watch, though, and it’s not the peat mines. (Already finished) - Beyond Fire’s Grasp: Drysa of the Vault is summoned to investigate the theft of a mysterious substance from a Tsarnassan military alchemical lab— and no one gets to leave the lab until the theft is solved. To make things worse, no one wants to tell Drysa exactly what was stolen. (Science story- chemistry. Not yet finished, so I'd definitely prefer if y'all pick one of the others, but I'll definitely be able to get this one done this month if need be.)
- Highvale’s Throne: A group of architects, bureaucrats, and military officers judge a competition to design the new throne for the Kingdom of Highvale. (Set a century and a half after the fall of the Ithonian Empire.)
