Status Update : Battle System rework and stuff

Here is an update for the upcoming versions:


The Battle System has been tweaked lots and lots and now, changes are coming !

The Battlefield now consist of 8 separate positions, 4 on each side (instead of a front and back row), restricting  what skills  both Ally and Enemy characters are able to use.

As a result, positioning will be key in order to defeat the Enemy. Speaking of positioning, all characters share a basic movement skill, allowing them to switch places with an adjacent character.

Some character will have dedicated movement skills, allowing them to dash to the front line, retreat at the very back of the formation, provoking an Enemy into moving closer or even shattering the Enemy's morale, breaking their formation !


Here are a few examples :

Gabriella "Shield Charge" = 'Attack' (75%) / Gabriella moves to the front of the formation (might add a knock back on that one)

Faelyne "Somersault" = Faelyne moves to the back of the formation

Vermillya "Dragon Roar" = 'Magic' (25%) / Scramble the Enemies' position

Oriphel "Eyes On Me" = Enemy moves to the front of the formation


Each skill now has an additional tooltip showing the required position for it to be usable and the targets that it can reach.

For now, we will set each Heroine with 5 or 6 different skills (plus the shared one) in order to get feedback and make modifications, but after that, players should have to select only 4 (4 seems good) to be used in Dungeon. Some will be available to learn from the Item Shop or unlocked from progressing in skill trees.

There will be a dedicated "Manage your party" screen for all of that.


Right now we are starting to do the same for Enemy skills ; they will get updated or new ones, as well as a do ever for the AI.


Heroine's CGs are being worked on, Gabriella CG1 is completed and will get animated in engine ; next one up is Faelyne, without forgeting about the Scorpion and Snake !
