2024-11-06 13:28:51 +0000 UTCAs always, I would die for the Fox. The absolute screech I let out at, "That stuff sounded like what Suvi would say!" Also, it must be said, I loved how the two different Ghibli films kind of overlapped in this episode (now that our whole party is together) without either one undercutting the other. Like there's no doubt that dealing with Firebringer disappearing, and the spirit's cliff trap, and the military strategy is all high-stakes and intense; but also Ame giving Sworn tea and saltwater taffy, and the ink demon goofs, and everything the Fox says and does is all genuinely silly in a way I love. In addition to it being good and interesting storytelling on a meta level, it also in-world really shows what value they bring to each others' lives. Hearing Suvi and Sworn keep their cool after Firebringer's banishment and reassuring Ame to help her power through, and then hearing the genuine joy in Suvi's voice at the Fox... it's like, oh yeah, they're friends because they complete each other, they give each other what they're missing without each other.

2024-11-06 10:06:45 +0000 UTCI took it as a combination of being relieved and grateful that Suvi came, being fucking exhausted from not having been allowed to sleep for days, being scared because of how dire the situation is, being burnt out from putting on a brave face for all of the other wizards trapped in there with him since he's the leader, being vulnerable because he finally has a peer he can express his fears to, and being anxious that he might have just brought Suvi here to die. Of course anything is possible but to me, the conversation, "You came -> I love you -> Sky, I think we're in a lot of trouble" said, "I'm so grateful you came, but my love for you means I need to be honest that maybe you shouldn't have"

SO to Lou/Eursalon for catching most of Brennan's traps and looking out for the group (whenever he clocks shit I think back to "I been playing DND with Brennan for a long time" and god I'm so thankful for it). This was an episode chock full of environmental details and I appreciate these moments as I imagine the players taking notes while being given a moment to think and process more. I am worried about the next episode though. Knowing what we know, what the fuck are they going to do? Also, not that this helps them at all in this moment but I hope Eursalon remembers his favor from Will Gallows before this campaign ends.
