Okay, so, the whole "Jesus is hot in classical art" thing was, at least in part, because Michelangelo (I think, but it might've been another Renaissance artist) caught shit for making biblical men too hot, got salty about it, and decided to double down on the hotness, now with 150% more homoerotic undertones.
