May I just say thank you for recommending that we listen to this in cars with good sound systems, because the episode release schedule has lined up perfectly with how i borrow my dads car to help drive wares between his two book stores two the neighbouring town, and its a pretty new car with a very good sound system. I could feel the base from the name cloak ceremony vibrating the steering wheel as I was driving on the highway while listening on probably a bit too loud volume and it was incredible. I believe Brennan was likely using the word "fencing" as it is broadly understood in the modern setting to mean the specialized sport rather than a martial art. It is funny how the historical definition has drifted so far from the modern one, and can definitely make it frustrating to translate back and forth
