Hello! Is there a good email to reach your team at? TWTWTWO inspired me to start work on new board game about navigating the politics of a Witch's Coven and the larger politics of a complex world too. Y'all normally focus on role-playing games but I'm curious if you'd like to hear more (maybe collaborate or lend me the theme of the world) but if not I can definitely keep working on the project with a legally distinct theme. The description of how to add fireside to a podcast app didn't line up with my user interface with patreon for android phones. I found it by going to WBN patreon page > podcasts> open the fireside chat feed> 3 dots menu in the top right corner. There I found the link to copy the RSS feed and also to add it directly to the podcast app via patreon app. Hope its helpful for anyone in the same boat to find it.

The site was glitching for me in such a way that let me add one thing to my cart but then would not let me navigate anywhere to add more to the card so PRO TIP if you want multiple things while dealing with this glitch: on the main page with all the merch, right click on the items you want, open each in a new tab. Then go to each tab and add them all to your cart, the website caches your info so they will all add to the same cart. Once you're done, the check out button works perfectly fine (at least it did for me) so you can buy everything, add your discounts, etc. (if you already opened the site in a browser try just doing this in incognito)

Adding to the site issues comments. I've tried 3 different browsers, toggling VPN, tried incognito etc etc. Two of the sites won't even let me go to the site because it is "not secure" and the one browser that will let me visit the site won't let me add more than one item at a time, like the other comments on here. Thank you for providing us with merch! I hope the site issue is an easy fix! <3

There definitely is an option to subscribe on an annual basis, and as a bonus you get a slight discount. Try settings -> memberships -> WBN -> edit amount? That seems to give me the option to toggle between annual/monthly

This is a bit random but is there a way to pay for the year upfront that i’m not aware of or is that a feature that the creators would have to turn on? i was just curious because i saw it was an option for another creator i recently joined and i would be interested in doing the same for Worlds Beyond Number if i can. my membership had some issues on and off this year because money was hard for obvs reasons. i’d be interested in prepaying my membership for a year while i have the money to do so to avoid the headache and maintain access to favorite podcast if i could. If it’s not an option no worries!

The best way to stay up to date with the show is to listen via podcatcher apps like Overcast, Pocket Casts, Podcast Addict, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and many many more, almost all of them free. Youtube is not a podcatcher app, per se, though the YouTube Music app does allow you to add podcast rss feeds to be collected there, just by clicking "Add Podcast." Hope this helps!

We only release a few video excerpt for socials of the fireside chats. They remain audio-first, as this allows the cast to record without the otherwise constant pressure of Being Seen. But who knows what the future holds...

While a vinyl pressing is definitely something we'd consider in the future, for our first OST release we'll almost certainly go with digital only, as it makes the entire process more stable, more flexible, less labor intensive, enables the most participation from the most people, and keeps the price point as low as possible.

There are a lot of weeks between episodes so I need some help to remember stuff. Just finished episode 53. 1) Where did the piece of sea glass come from and what was its importance? 2) The party split up to go to the location referenced in the Stars book and apartment 28 which is the place Yorin told Sky about; How does going to either location connect with helping out Ghost & Flicker? Are they in the citadel? I ask because it was communicated that Sky found that a priority but the accomplished tasks seem to be more about discovering the nature of the curse + getting lore on Soft & Stone. 3) How did Task the Spider get all of this footage of Soft & Stone? Where was he that he was able to do so?

Is there a way to get the fireside to merge with the public episodes in Spotify? It current seems to set up as a fireside only Playlist and then a separate public episode only Playlist. Its mostly just annoying if im in the car trying to switch on the dash between both while driving

Hey Jeremy! This is answered in the FAQ above: Do I Need to Subscribe to the Public Feed and the Fireside Feed? Yes. Episodes of the main show are sent out over the main, public feed. That’s the feed you see on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other podcast apps and directories. Patrons however, get access to an exclusive bonus feed called the Fireside Feed. To get the main show and your premium content on your podcatcher, you’ll need to subscribe to both. We sincerely appreciate you taking the time (should only be a few seconds!) to subscribe to both feeds, as it’s the best way for us to grow the show, keep it sustainable, and make sure you get all your awesome bonus content.

As a writer, I would pay so much money to listen to Brennan and the bunch speak at length about just storytelling. Apple's new policy doesn't effect existing subscriptions, and since we don't use "first of the month" or "per-creation" billing, none of our operations will be effected either. You don't need to take any action, and your Patreon experience will not change. Like all other Patreon creators, we'll encourage new signups on iOS to use a desktop computer or their mobile web browser to join the Fireside without Apple's ridiculous fees, but other than that, what's to mention? the issue now is that YouTube music is where google podcasts went so everyone who used that and still listens as a podcast has to weight. Which isn't fun. I've even tried using other platforms and it just really doesn't work. Ads, apps with in app purchases, or in the case of simple cast just pausing every 9 mins, additional subscriptions to companies I don't want to support ect. Now I'm basically frustrated every time an episode comes out. (I know I can just wait but I have a hard time changing my schedule, and I'm also excited to listen)

Probably because the show is developed for podcasting, so statistically they want to drive the most attention to it in that format. If you search "popular DND podcast" the people who are strictly listening on youtube aren't going to drive the numbers on that popularity. Plus, I'd imagine there are a few extra steps to get it to youtube. Podcasting typically uses RSS, so you can push it from one location and it'll be syndicated on multiple platforms, where youtube they'd need a separate, secondary process. So TLDR: for the SEO, for maintaining the brand (being a podcast, hosted wherever you listen to podcasts), and ease.

It does end your access, yeah. It happened to me as well when I had to end my subscription for a while after the Children's Adventure came out. That said, if you have downloaded existing episodes to your device I *think* those would remain? Don't quote me on that though! Podcast apps are finicky, esoteric creatures. A bit spirit-like, if we're being honest.

Potential Spoilers I do not know where to ask this, but in the episode where Grandma Wren dies she tells Ame not to trust…, but the curse prevents Ame from hearing who she shouldn’t trust. When the curse is broken we get a lot of what was hidden by the curse, but I don’t think we go back to that scene to hear what Grandma Wren said. Is that true? Or did I miss something where we get that info?

If you’re familiar with creating a station on Apple Podcasts it’s the same! I’ve broken down the steps below: 1. Add both the Public WBN feed and the Fireside feed to your subscribed shows in Apple Podcasts 2. Go into Apple Podcasts “Library” at the bottom of your screen (if you’re not already there) 3. Click the three dots in the top right corner 4. Select “New Station” 5. Name your station whatever you wish, and hit “Save” (You can always change this later, mine is just WBN) 6. Station settings: -Name: Already made by you, can be changed at any time -Play: To *start* I recommend “Oldest to Newest” so you see everything in chronological release order. You can fine tune this later as you get comfortable. -Group by Show: Toggled “OFF” -Episodes: Again, to *start* I recommend “All” if you’re trying to get it sorted out and/or playing catch-up in any way as imo it’s easier to customize if you have it all there organized for you. This can also be fine-tuned later! -Media Type: Up to you, mine is set to “All” so if there’s any future video content I’ll see it, but as of right now either choice presented in the menu doesn’t make a difference tbh. -Hide Played Episodes: One last time, *to start* I recommend having this toggled “OFF” to make fine-tuning easier! 7. Podcasts: Select “Choose Podcasts” & select BOTH WBN & the Fireside feed from the list 8. Hit “Done” in the top right corner. And that’s the gist! After that you should see what looks *essentially* like a playlist of all the eps from both feeds, in release order for BOTH shows flowing nicely into your station! What’s great is the station will automatically update as new eps are added to each feed, so you don’t have to redo this or manually add anything / worry that you’ve missed it! This is already an *incredibly* long response so I’ll leave another comment in a bit with details re: fine tuning some settings if you wanted to customize what you see a bit further! LMK if you have any questions, & I hope this helps!

Just here to say I *finally* figured out the cleanest (read: and easiest) way to get WBN and Fireside to sync & play both feeds in tandem AND release order on Apple Podcasts if anyone needs help doing so! I joined this amazing party late and am therefore playing catchup on this *incredible* content, so getting both feeds to sync up and play in release order, one right after the other (a la D20 Complete Adventure campaigns on Dropout) was a bit of a stickler for me in the Apple Podcasts app. But we did it! So if you’re new like me, and want some help finagling your device feel free to reach out! WBN team, y’all are fucking killing it. 1000000/10 would recommend until the end of time. 💜💜💜

I am trying to make more and more and more fanart, and it would help a LOT if we could see a map! Even a vague rough map of Akham would help. I'm good at visualizing details but terrible at relational positioning (my mental maps tend to place everything in the same direction from the starting point, I don't know why) and I want to get things at least kind of accurate in terms of like, which side of Grandma Wren's house is the road, which coast of Akham are things happening on, etc. Also if you give us a rough map I'll make a pretty one. DM me whatever hand-drawn thing you're working with if you must, I just need some idea of where things are in relation to each other. I know you're busy people, not trying to rush if this is already in the pipeline, just letting you know why this would be helpful to your friendly local fan artist.

As a creator on fiverr I would be curious about some of this, but does the use of fiverr really matter if the pay was a 'fair' amount and agreed upon by both parties? Of course it is another website like doordash, uber or airbnb, a middleman that does not own any of the property/talent it is selling but takes a cut anyway, aka a staple of this capitalist hell. But there is no ethical consumption under capitalism, and using or not using it doesnt change the underlying problematic structure of producing commodities via wage-labor for a profit. In a way, no amount paid would ever be 'fair'. Some of your money via the patreon is going to this website, which promotes what you said, but the rest of your money is likely going to be promoting the same thing just at different sources, because thats how the system works. Unethical companies outcompete 'ethical' ones in the end because they draw more profit, and buying ethical helps only marginally. So yall, I'd say if you have a problem with all of this pick up a brick, or at least vote, support your community, protest, volunteer. Shopping somewhere else wont really help in comparison. I hope the creators were paid fairly, but knowing the crew I am not worried.

I would assume they do that for their metrics within podcast apps. If all their patrons have the main podcast in their individual private feeds, then those listens will not count towards their rankings within podcast charts, thus reducing their reach.

But for a Patreon funded podcast, is it really necessary to not release the episodes in the private feed too, so that us, paying customers, can have only 1 feed to subscribe to ? Is the financial and business potential of having the numbers go up as much as possible on the public feed worth the kinda bothersome experience for paying listeners ? Because I would really really love to have just 1 feed with public and private episodes airing in the correct order and in only one feed. My second question is a sincere question. Did you sum it all up and found out that yes, it was worth it to be discovered naturally through podcast research, rather than have any person of the cast tweet a call to action from time to time ?

Hmmm, tricky problem. The addition of the fireside and cast portraits are not enough to visually distinguish the two feeds quickly for some people, but if I were to make a big change abruptly I'd have thousands of complaints and DMs asking where the Fireside feed went. Fear not. I have a solution. Gonna take about 6-8 weeks to fully implement, but I'm going to slowly fade in a higher contrast Fireside Feed art design that should let your eye pick it out more cleanly while not alienating people who are accustomed to the current design. Has a podcaster attempted this before? I don't care. I demand to be called things like "pioneer" "innovator" and...dare I? Yes, "hero." To my future biographers, don't forget I am also humble! -t

Hey Jason! Just confirmed episode 2 is alive and well, including on Apple Podcasts. Like we say in the instruction manual, most podcast tech issues can be resolved with fiddling (or sometimes changing) the podcatching app, which is not something we can change on our end. Maybe you accidentally deleted the ep or marked it as played? I've certainly done that myself several times. -t

For what it's worth, I don't see episode 2 on Apple Podcasts either. I just unfollowed/followed and it's not there. Also recommendation to change the cover art between the public/private feeds. Since we need both, it would be great if there was a better visual difference. It's a bit confusing.

WRT Patreon and credit cards - some years ago Patreon suddenly couldn't process my cc. I tried different card. Same thing. I reached out to support. Nothing. So I deleted my account. If Patreon can't run your card it might not have anything to do with your card. Maybe it was a bug that's been fixed or maybe because it showed up as declined by cc, no one figured it needed to be fixed.

These are just prologues to both the Children's Adventure and the main adventure. So you're not missing anything yet. The child portions cut away after their main introduction and then the adult portions is where they're at, individually, when the adult adventure begins. It seems that adult Suvi and Ame have a bit of adventure before they re-meet Eursolon (though I doubt it's even a full episode's worth - just enough for them to establish their quest and the need to add Eursolon to it). Both the Children's Adventure and the main adventure will start dropping on March 1st.

I am confused if I am missing things. the episode with the witch ends with them not knowing if the wizard makes it in time. Then the wild one does nothing to answer that question. I just want to know if I am missing something or if that was on purpose. Sorry, but I feel like the structure of this patreon was not correctly explained. As someone else mentioned, they feel they missed the children's adventure. I am not sure of the then and now previews are the children's adventure. I am very okay with not knowing what I know I shouldn't know yet, but It is a bit frustrating if I don't know what I shouldn't know yet, if that makes sense.

I have to add to the general raving and say that, like the Ghibliesque sensation you're creating with the amazing descriptions (Grandmother Ren's room brought to mind Howl's room from Howl's Moving Castle, but so much more nature based) the food imagery is just perfect - I love Ghibli food and it could almost see the slow bubbles in the juk, the golden viscosity of the egg yolk. Oh yeah we'd love to do lots of little stuff like that. It would just be exhausting to read it all itemized in the tier list, ya know? The cast is super hot on the idea of character playlists, so thats a definite yes. As far as original music, I [taylor here, hello!] definitely wanna release the original score when we have enough to justify a full album. Not sure how yet, but it's absolutely something I'm looking forward to. What I'd REALLY like to do is essentially make two versions of the album, one with polished beginning/middle/end versions of the songs, and then one thats loops and ambiences people can use for home games, or add to their vtt setup!
