2023-12-14 20:47:12 +0000 UTCAm I the only one who got the impression that Mike is the one who wants a relationship & it’s Jack who is trying to keep it FWB? Mike’s always flirting with Jack even when people are around; he is the one who started the sex with Jack in the shower when Jack was upset; when Jack stayed upset, Mike tried to cuddle up to him and stress that he was a great captain, only for Jack to rebuke him; the hurt way that Mike keeps insisting Jack won’t pass to him on the court; and then in this episode it was a lot of Mike saying “you know what I want and you won’t give it to me” while Jack insists Mike is only “normal” when they’re fucking, aka when they’re on the same page as to what they want from one another. I could be off and it’s the reverse like NoJo theorize, but it really reads to me like Jack (because he’s the captain; because they’re friends; because internalized homophobia; idk) wants to keep the status quo and Mike is fed up with it, thus why he’s pulling away and not being friendly so that Jack can’t have his cake and eat it too.
