Also, Ray and Jian.... they are so freakin cute together. I was a little confused at the coffee shop double date thing. Ye Guong had already met Jian in episode 2 or 3, but acted like he didn't know him. Same with Ray and the other guy, because the previous episode the other guy approached Tay to give Jian a chance to explain.

2023-12-10 13:18:30 +0000 UTCI 100% agree with this entire reaction, Nolan. I reacted the same way the first time I saw this episode. I kept waiting for Ye Guong to tell his father that the smack to the face would be the last one because he'd start hitting him back tye next time, but I also understand that culturally Ye Guong wouldn't do that, but also he may not have stong enough emotionally to say that. I also kept waiting for the mom to be upset that her husband hit her kid, but again that was not likely to happen. I just can't figure put why they're so prejudice against single parent families, or poor people. In a way, it's good to know that's not only an American problem, but it's a human problem.
