Author's Notes

Thought I'd share some thoughts about the stories and characters I like.

Favorite Comic Book Characters:

You may already be aware that my favorite comic book characters are Red Sonja, Domino Lady and Blue Bulletteer.  I like these characters 'cause of their costumes and also because they don't have any super powers, except perhaps Sonja if you consider the Goddess' blessing.  With Sonja, I can never decide on a costume!  Some less common favorites of mine include Spellbinder, American Icon, Sahara, Hellina, and Tarot.  Sahara and Tarot, in particular, have some interesting back stories.  And, I pretty much like everything AC comics publishes.

Favorite Original Characters:

In terms of my OC's, Antivirus is my favorite.  Lilianne is a close second followed by Glitter.  I like all my fantasy characters, but am torn over which ones to develop.  Tani the Assassin and Amy the Amazon have become my latest projects.

Antivirus backstory:

Antivirus fights internet crime using guile, sexuality and her own technology.  I created this character after I received an email from Target informing me of a security breach.  You may remember, the president of Target decided to wait one month before informing the public of the breach.  I quickly reset all my passwords, and to this day, I can't remember any of them and am frequently changing them or getting locked out of accounts.  I was pretty pissed at Target and created this character as a result.

Antivirus is the alter ego or Caroline Branch, a 25 year old substitute teacher.  Caroline's parents were very successful research scientists who invented a very effective treatment for lung cancer.  This spawned their pharmaceutical company Branch, Inc.  A highly successful company, the Branch's became billionaires by the time Caroline was 8 years old.

Unfortunately, this was the same year Caroline's mother died in a car crash.  Her father buried his wife in the ground and then himself in his work, never to emerge.  

Raised by a revolving door of Nannies, Caroline developed certain eccentricities.  First, neglected by her father, Caroline became a kleptomaniac in her teens.  This did imbue her with uncanny lockpicking skills.  In fact, she became a certified locksmith and almost went into this business.  Second, when she discovered boys, she learned that her charms, and more specifically her boobs, could manipulate men.  Toying with men and sex was a hobby.  Caroline also has a temper.  She deals with this by studying martial arts.  Since she was a girl she studied karate and is now a master blackbelt.  

Her father, distraught by her behavior, attempted to control Caroline by limiting her allowance and forcing her to go to College.  Caroline studied education and eventually received a degree in child development and education.  After graduating, her father ended the allowance forcing Caroline to get a job.  Due to her colored past, it was difficult to obtain full time employment in education and thus she became a substitute teacher.  She matured and attempted to secure respect and impress her father.  Last year, her father died unexpectedly of a heart attack.  His will was unclear, but he did leave his stock options to his daughter.  As the lawyers tried to sort out the family finances, the board of Branch, Inc. decided to sell the company for several billion dollars.  This left Caroline with over $900 million dollars in stock options.  Shortly after this announcement, Caroline received notice from the Department Store Giant, Bull's Eye, that her identity had been compromised.  Suddenly, substitute teaching no longer seemed attractive.

She's aided by her friend and lover Carl, an accomplished computer science engineer.  Together they combat internet crimes.
