Combat System

Added Inverse Kinematics to engine and implemented enough functionality for independent upper body and lower body movement. 

Kind of tired of talking about tech so lets do something different this time.

As mentioned before, the next game will feature weaponry and directional attacks and guards. Eg, 4 attack directions - up/down/left/right and 4 block directions. A block is only successful if the block is in the same direction as the attack.

So here are the 4 blocks for a sword user, can you match them with the guard direction? (up/down/left/right)

In my opinion this mechanic can be awesome or tedious depending on how it get´s implemented, if there will be a way for you to predict movement it will be awesome, if there is no way to predict it will be up tedious, because then it will end up being purely luck based, but knowing how awesome HR turned out to be, i am sure Enlit3D will keep this in mind :P

Careful because you might make this game too awesome and heroine rumble might start getting jealous

I hated this mechanic in For Honor. It is way too tedious.

What is the argument for 3 directions instead of 4?

Did you check "For Honor"?, it was available as free to play last weekend. I would suggest something like removing one of the two side blocks and make the down stance be the one that blocks that side (no actual down blocking/attacking stance) so that when blocking (or attacking), the three stances are completely different.
