2025-09-19 04:19:07 +0000 UTCim sure this was the point u were making but the "imagine what it'd be like if 20% of all internal combustion car drivers pulled up to a gas station & were forced to drive away without any gas" did happen in the US and it caused the entire country to collectively decide that their preferred method of transportation is worth committing endless genocide to protect supply chains for

2025-09-06 06:24:10 +0000 UTCWe can’t even fix zoning here to allow for more dense and efficient urban areas. The boomers have so throughly cooked our country, squandering a generational manufacturing head start out of WWII and setting us up for economic catastrophe into the 2030’s

2025-08-27 10:53:43 +0000 UTCThis was an excellent episode that felt close to home. My parents met at Ford and my dad used to work in the finance /warranty department at ford and then jaguar/land-rover. He took redundancy post 2008 as they job he always hated got worse. He's done a few other manual temp jobs but nothing in the financial area of work. I find it a huge indicator of where our economy is heading.

2025-08-27 10:50:02 +0000 UTCSorry to be massive nerd but LFP batteries aren’t more energy dense than Li-Ion - in fact energy density is the *only* advantage Li-Ion still has, hence why mobile tech still uses it.

2025-08-24 23:31:08 +0000 UTCOur local brands went from selling cost effective commuter cars, to Souped Up Golf alikes. They even soft killed the brand. Just volkswagen group things. Now if you want a decent commuter it's... French cars. Ugh.

2025-08-24 12:37:47 +0000 UTCI don’t want to join the N word debate particularly but as the exceptionally white father of two fluent ethnically Māori children who go to an indigenous language immersion school in the hood, life can get very confusing sometimes. The intersection of American street culture, Māori renaissance, social deprivation resultant on colonialism and one middle aged white guy in a suit wondering what impact it he when their teenage daughter greets them in public by saying “what up my N word?” Makes for some interesting experiences.
