My friend is a nuclear physicist, and that alchemist company went to a conference to pitch their idea. Every actual physicist in the room spent their Q&A mocking them for being morons. They want to use mercury vapor to cool reactors, which is the sort of thing that will kill a lot of people and poison the environment forever even if they did mange the technical obstacles to make it work. They’re, at best, yet another fusion startup that won’t get to the test stage and exists to skim VC money.
