It’s a Pilled, Pilled, Pilled, Pilled World feat. Julian Feeld

QAA’s Julian Feeld joins us to discuss how Q-Anon has metastasised into mainstream political thought in the global North, and will usher in a whole new era of traumas and catastrophes that will in turn produce yet wilder political tendencies that will continue metastasising. Also, Starmer’s forensic diplomacy lasts all of 45 minutes, the dissociative border patrol, and Miguel Arruda stands firm.

I got randomly assaulted by a Tesla driver in front of my apartment earlier today. In Brooklyn. And, apparently, because I was trans. I’m basically okay, but to say the least fuck Elon Musk. Or, don’t fuck him, actually. Ew.

Elsie Hupp

On paper its possible to unwind it but it would require levels of unity, dynamism, and ability to mobilize the population (or, any substantial group of people at all) that the Democrats just arent capable of. Its why you see many Democrats lament how easy it is to tear things down compared to how 'hard' it is to build things up. On some level this is true but I dont think its helped by Democrats' total unwillingness to rock the boat. This is a party that cant even get a single high speed rail line built in a reasonable amount of time.

jeff

guy named Vincent Fusca, he's been claiming that for like 6 years now, shows out at all the right wing kook conventions

Tristan Ryan

Yes, one only need look back as far as George W. Bush to see how in love America was with Vladimir Putin: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=bush+putin&t=ffip&ia=images&iax=images (And in particular how much Putin and W. were in love with each other haha)

Elsie Hupp

(Sorry for long post with no paragraphs, phone browser won't let me do that, annoyingly lol). ------+----- The issue is when it's too often just used specifically to deflect from the clear consistent historal danger of republican, neoliberal conservative anarcho-capitalist loyalty the majority of politicians in America (and spreading more intensely throughout other western democracies) adamantly defend their own broken system with so they don't ever have to engage with actual self reflection and critical analysis of their own nation's suffering. Cos the sad grim truth is America's never needed foreign motivations to systemically fuck their own population over, over and over again to this very day. The only difference with Putin's involvement is he wants a slice of the same pie the rest of the billionaires - turn oligarchs - are carving out for themselves too. --------+------------ Like, for example, did you know Putin was exactly what America wanted for Russia in the first place? Do you know what the IMF did to enable his authoritarian Dictatorship just because their bloodthirstiness for "destroying communism" (communism = anything left of Reagan btw) was stronger than the lives of not even other nations people's, but also their own citizens? Are you aware of what horrific leaderships the IMF has enabled in other vulnerable countries through extremely antagonistic debt contracts? Putin was their first pro-market baby who sold off the whole damn country to international corporate interests after they engineered the fall of the soviet union, he was their own project, which makes it absolutely wild they still love to pretend he's their biggest enemy now. Just, plz, look into the history of what the US has done to the rest of the world, especially through the IMF. Maybe listen to the podcast 'Blowback' too. Then you'll understand why people are less fond of entertaining more reports that focus solely on influences outside of America that also align with long-term foreign-policy projects, and that what Putin wants is basically what the pro-capitalist conservatives have always desired and pushed towards whether they admit it or not, while enacting it more aggressively/obviously fast or less - Admittedly, a lot of ppl don't bother explaining any of this, or do so poorly or with too much hostility - often assuming other people should already know all this veiled byzantine historical geopolitical process most news isn't interestes in teaching us - which I feel hasn't helped, hence this absurdly long reply I'm sorry for having to impose upon anyone. But I am trying to improve the lack of, and miscommunication around these issues in hopes the left can practice solidarity less abrasively in times where it's hardly been needed more. ~• P r a x i s ! •~ Much apologies!

I'm so confused who is pretending to be JFK Jr

lol, I'm sure a couple hundred Russian twitter/CSGO users love how much credit they're receiving for the US hurting themselves, but russiagate is exactly as much cope fiction as qanon

mexicanhalloween .

peak fan moment of making an almost identical comment about musical theater deer out loud on my walk at the same time Riley did

Charlotte Ring

Thank you for the relatively optimistic take. EU America will probably be weirdly petty and cursed, but better to live in than the (insert the dumbest thing) civil war landscape alternative.

jamin

Oh lol

Kvvvy

(It was hush-hush because he did it on a tourist visa.)

Elsie Hupp

He played New York in December 2022.

Elsie Hupp

Personally I expect the US is just going to become more and more merely federated, like Germany or even the EU, rather than united like it has otherwise been since the Civil War. That said I don’t think there will be any fight over secession, per se; every fight will be localized and over something increasingly stupid and petty, until the whole concept of a United States completely disappears.

Elsie Hupp

But only by accident—what Hillary Clinton was *really* doing was projecting onto Trump what she herself had done to Bernie Sanders.

Elsie Hupp

But what if the *real* pedophiles are the friends QAnon made along the way?

Elsie Hupp

The liberals were right about Russia gate though. You don't have to hand it to hillary clinton. But trumps actions have proven her right.

Magos Fieldalex

No I think I think you're right it's quite real, but I'm not sure what the best way to orientate oneself to it is. (It's probably not the liberal fact-checking impulse as Tristan pointed out) The stories of modernity and neo/liberalism are failing because they no longer apply to the world as it is, there will no longer be enough economic growth to just paper over the cracks in everything (or at least not enough people can be convinced anymore, and yes I'm aware of the wealth inequality problem) Relatedly we won't be solving climate change, we'll keep that pedal down till we're literally out of gas. This is probably related to narratives and elite cycling as well, right now no one can confront the problem of hey the climate is going to get fucked and we're going to have less resources to provide what people actually need, (freedom, stability, meaning, connection, health) so let's get on that in an equitable way, so because no one can stare that head on in meaningful sense and be allowed into power (because doing anything with that reality would require confronting insanely wealthy, insanely rich people and vested interests) you're just going to get weirder and beliefs till all the institutions fall over or find some way to actually grapple with people's real problems. That doesn't HAVE to mean more facism but that is the easy path. I don't know that grand vision from the left will emerge and fix everything either, the most promising aspect I can could think of would be reducing working hours as as to balance less consumption/production with more time to actually live. Strictly speaking whether it's a straight decline of society/the empire or if a new consensus emerges and becomes overwhelming, I don't know. Right now I'm just trying to secure a more permanent living situation for myself and growing more food to keep as many non-nazi's feed as possible.

jamin

I don't know who could unwind that, let alone the Democrats!

Karl's Declassified

at least if the world has to re-arm we're gonna find out exactly how well Military Keynsianism works

etienne

what fucks me up the most is, let's imagine the already utopian scenario where dems win the presidency in '28, how do you even begin to unwind this? just being at the top of a completely razed organization with no money, no more internal superstructure, filled to the brim with totally commited nazis and a population that's overall almost only listening to psychotic death squad agitators

etienne

The gay deer bit is great because it’s one of those that you can imagine Trump saying in real life.

Oliver Elliott

Yay, my two favourite podcasts in one episode! 🤩🤩🤩 (*sigh* fml 😭😭)

Kali

I can't believe Milo is going to play the Falklands before New York or Toronto

Kvvvy

Yall put this perfectly when you said "they don't like the veneer of liberalism" regarding USAID.

Lars

I understand feeling that way and often do too. But if they've maybe already taken your future, don't let them take your joy, too. I've been telling the pilled people in my life that Trump groomed Vance and that RFK is a tulpa. Think up some bs that whips ass and say it with your chest, have fun with it. Say save serious convos for sane people lol

Tristan Ryan

To me, it's just such a breath of fresh air to have commentators who can cut straight to the core of what current events really mean in a broader context. It feels like they're able to take the big-picture view that usually requires the benefit of hindsight--like we're seeing how historians will recount this era later.

Karl's Declassified

Riley at the end: "when they turn off the management of the empire... Then in that time of transition, you're going to see another round, I think, of emergent folk ways, religions, conspiracy theories... That are going to incorporate those stories and then spend the next four years working themselves into the mainstream" I hate to be a doomer, but doesn't that sound like the decline of a society? Picture it happening in another world: the new generation of scorned outer-circle elite, not understanding how things work because they leaned too far into the propaganda meant for the masses rather than the narratives the ruling class is supposed to teach itself, tears the system down in a looting, childish frenzy to find something that isn't there. Material conditions slip and create tension, but the lack of a hegemonic media narrative means that the system can't empower an insider-outsider to do the maintenance/reform to keep it afloat (as when Reagan captured and diffused the tensions of the 70s.) So, that tension pushes people out of the bounds of a weakening mainstream into the waiting arms of cult leaders and echo chambers. Finally, one of the core internal projects of America is realized as people become so atomized from each other that they can't push the system in any meaningful way, and it drifts into the waiting arms of fascism, the idealogical cancer that needs no cohesion among the people that it empowers, because it is all things to all of them. It's the anti-utopia, preaching collective success (of the "right people") through hierarchies and individual achievement. And hasn't that always been one of America's greatest contradictions? I think that just as the whole ship is taking on water from internal damage, one big iceberg, long looming on the horizon but scarcely acknowledged, will create the final state of permanent crisis. This is not a society that can solve climate change, to put it lightly. Does this feel real to anyone else, or am I just depressed again?

Karl's Declassified

I caught Milo's show in Petropavlovsk, and man did he ever stick it to Vice-Admiral Yevfimiy Vasilyevich Putyatin. Stong meat. Strong meat indeed.

Andrew Davis

The great Luxemburgist Rosa Luxemburg once observed that to the rich woman her life was the world, while to the poor woman her life was the world. This is not an entry in the "bully Riley into transitioning" gag from No Gods, No Mayors.

Andrew Davis

after the tsuki project in 2018 i began like making it a point to get in and remain in concensus reality and now im wondering why the hell i even bothered cuz this reality sucks a lot lol

Lain of the Wired

Every time I go to renew prescription for anxiety meds I'm a little more put off in how stressed my doctor sounds if we discuss current events. Strange days.

Seeing what is essentially Affirmative Action grievance politics the same way I heard as a kid in the 90s coming back into full swing has been demoralizing as hell, not to mention the eugenics freaks masquerading as "people concerned with average IQ" I'm sure it is similar across the pond too, but these concepts are Foundational to American politics, and we're exporting it everywhere now

YungCereza

Far right politicians are frequently getting charged with eight crimes.

benabu

The unsaid portion of DEI complaints, or with affirmative action stuff before it, is the idea that "those people" are biologically inferior and are being allowed into (undeservedly) places that they should not be. Eugenics never left and its only going to get worse (unless people really step up to the plate with combatting it) with people like basically infinite resources like Elon Musk peddling it.

jeff

Something that can't be understated is how powerful racism is in the day-to-day decisions of the average American. Instead of a secret cabal of pedophiles running everything they think DEI initiatives are put forth by a cabal of wealthy democrats bankrolled by ""Soros"" to (insert The Great Replacement summary here), and it swayed an election Always great to hear Julian on the crossover episodes!

Feels like we’ve fallen a long way from weekly startups

Josh L

Did Riley just say, “we don’t have a King figure”? Sick burn, mate

Shivvy

it also makes me feel less alone which is probably why i pay for it (+ the completely unthreatening and respectful parasocial crush on november)

Nina

not sure what it says about me that i love paying money for this podcast which every time, without fail, makes me feel more anxious about the future and more insane about the fact that other people seem to think this will just be a slightly weird 4 years at this rate we’re lucky if we still have years in 4 years

There's a Q adjacent guy who guys around rightwing circles claiming to maybe be JFK jr

I thought they were talking about Jack Schlossberg (Caroline Kennedy's son) but he's a Dem, so...?! help us, TF, we're confused

Ros Ballinger

being a schizophrenic and not being a conspiracy theorist at this point makes me feel more insane than actually being unattached to reality

Someone really needs to do a supercut of every Milo Trump impression and then create a soundboard of the best bits.

Jenna

While I agree with Julian on most things, the Kendrick/Drake pedo part of his article is a bit of a mistep, as drake does have a history of being super creepy around minors, and there's a wealth of receipts from his own actions to find online about it. Also Mark Cernovich, if I remember correctly, is likely more closest to the progenitor of the unfounded pedo accusations, there were videos he uploaded himself around the pizza gate era literally admitting... nay, even ADVISING to call anyone you having argument with a "pedo" - which was covered in the early QAA podcast btw so I don't think I'm disagreeing as much as trying to remind lol

Overzealous Euthanasiast

I'm still lost, isn't JFK Jr dead? Something about flying a plane into the Atlantic a couple decades ago

Awkward Dragon

This episode is first one where I think Riley is too online and is not looking at the IRL. Between town halls and Tesla protests there is a lot of other movement and narratives going on that are not q related Kind of disappointed in not taking a materialist analysis of the world and focusing on a narrow slice of online media

Maple Gladio

yeah im aware

Echo

No God no mayors

Kapjak

I know it's because what is being posted is useful for people in power, but it's still maddening. Also I'm on the edge of the Bible Belt so watching people go, oh but what if there was a shadowy organization of pedophiles, and restraining myself from immediately clapping back "OH, YOU MEAN THE FUCKING CHURCHES!?" (either protestant or catholic I won't discriminate they both got the same shit going on but different flavors and I'm versed in both)

jamin

That’s what I’ve been saying

HAUNTER

Unrelated entirely to the show, but bless you all, I have a mountain of work to do in the email mines, and I desperately needed an audio of some kind to put on while tipity typing away for the next hour.

HAUNTER

Having thought they were talking about for RFK Jr at the start there I was SO confused.

Ros Ballinger

Also the madness of being not a facist and being told that posting on the internet doesn't change anything. Well, well... it works just for the other side.

jamin

Watching the American Empire fall like, yeah I know it's bad but I was still using that.

jamin

Jesus, Julian, slow down! I haven't even finished the chapo episode you're on from this morning!

Gotta plug the anti homeless smart porta shitter startup again for Riley: https://thronelabs.co
