It's yet another encounter with a British cultural product that Nate knows but that Milo doesn't, and after having read the 1982 book THE SECRET DIARY OF ADRIAN MOLE, AGED 13 3/4, we've happened upon at least one aspect of its enduring appeal: it reveals how unbelievably dorky all 13-year-old boys are at heart. If you ever want to look at an English YA book that really had the Americans rattled (it was and is banned extensively) you may want to pick up a little number called "Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging." Also the first place in London I ever went was an American-style diner just called "The Diner" which was across the street from the Forbidden Planet in Covent Garden and it was entirely unmemorable.
