The original variant was responded to with minimum effort but thanks to our low population we managed to get away with it. It seems like since then the government's just run out of state capacity though, and with successive waves they've been doing less and less. Now everyone's got omicron and the only thing Scott Morrison has done is cancel Novak Djokovic's visa and give RAT coupons to pensioners.
