The glow in the solar images is caused by the starlight scattering both through the atmosphere as well as the scope optics. It's not as obvious if you don't intentionally process it that way... I like it because it adds more drama to the image and gives my work a signature look!

Andrew: LOVE LOVE LOVE your images! I do have a question though. the "glow" around many of the object - I am assuming that you add that to the original image, for visibility and to highten the interest?
