This was shot in hydrogen-alpha light- it is heavily filtered. So when the plane isn't directly blocking the sun, there is not enough contrast between the plane and the sky to resolve it's shape. Interestingly enough, the contrail scatters the light from the sun to become visible, but not the plane!
2021-01-18 06:59:54 +0000 UTCSo interesting how it looks like the plane took a piece of the sun with it. Also how the shadow only shows up over the sun itself and not outside of the frame. Why is that?
