Sailor Senshi Princesses (as of now)

Still working on these thumbnails, but here's where I'm at right now! This week most of my gamedev work was scriptwriting, so to ensure I accomplished some sort of drawing this week I finally some progress on this series. Would really love some thoughts on these!

I mainly focused on the inner senshi this week, aside from Jupiter since her design is pretty much final. 

The current lineup: Jupiter (green), Mercury (blue), Mars (red), Venus (orange). 

For the rest of the girls, here are some other thumbnails I'm considering:

Princess Mercury
I'm thinking of using a combination of the two thumbnails on the right to pump up Saturn's thumbnail, which left me with the left thumbnail by process of elimination. I think it's a little simple but maybe that fits her character, no offense...

Her light blue blouse is going to be see through if that helps? Still deciding on how exactly the sleeves are going to look; I think it will depend more on the final illustration so I'll probably wait to figure that out later P:

Princess Mars
God I struggle with fire dresses the most, there's only so many different designs you can do with fire motifs.

I think the thumbnail on the left has a more interesting silhouette but doesn't really read as a princess dress. Even if I'm putting a modern twist on the princess gowns, I still want these dresses to have some elegance to them.

My concern with the dress on the right is that it feels a bit too grand for her character, and her straight long black hair feels almost too casual for this gown. But maybe casual hair will make the dress feel more accessible?  

Princess Venus
Right off the bat, I knew there was this Valentino look I wanted use as inspiration for her. The problem was making my design feel unique enough from the inspo. Right was my initial design, and left is the most recent design which felt more appropriate for a princess.

Honestly, I still think it looks really similar but I'm trying not to care too much about making things super original these days. Mostly because I see other artists and designers take heavy inspiration from existing fashion and no one seems to give them slack, so I figure as long as I give credit I should be all right 🤣
