just some ladies

As part of the next version of Sugarplum Cafe, I'm drawing full body sprites for the characters and adding some new ones too! 

The incredibly rough short bios in my head for each of the characters:

• Vanilla - will walk you through the tutorial, lolita/maid-inspired fashion
• Milk (new) - Vanilla's relative, "Dutch/Swiss milkmaid" inspo so maybe she's from Europe? Kind of want to give her MILFy vibes for the lulz
• Mint - the smart, no-nonsense one; she just also happens to be hella chic (I need to give her a more academic design but I like this dress too much)
• Coffee (new) - she owns 51% of this company and always has shit to do. Kind of inspired by Tayshia from the Bachelorette lmaooo
• Strawberry - influencer wearing an outfit inspired by lovecore. Loves taking hot photos of herself and filming aesthetic vlogs. Will have an influencer bestie named Cherry and a relative named Pineberry who will also become customers 
• Jasmine Tea (new) - eccentric fashion designer, unafraid of wearing weird shit. Definitely inspired by Guo Pei's designs a little bit. Will have friends like Matcha, Milk Tea, Earl Grey 
• Chocolate - a classical dancer, a little bit of ballet and a little bit of flamenco. Will have a family of other chocolates, like White Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, Ruby Chocolate. Maybe they are also dancers but idk yet
• Soda (new) - a lo-fi, chiptune, or PC DJ who wears Y2K-inspired fashion. Haven't decided on which genre yet. Was kind of inspired by SOPHIE meets In Love with a Ghost

And the second pic is all the Madeline designs, who are gonna be the more common guests you see at the cafe. In the prototype they all had the same hairdo, but this time I gave each one a unique hairstyle that resembles the lady they stan the most.

I drew all of this in one day and I'm pretty pleased with myself haha. I've been having a rough time and this was probably the one highlight of the past week.

This is just placeholder art - any art I draw for the game is placeholder art - so the final art won't be so scribbly looking. But for now, I'm just jotting down the designs on virtual paper. Some of these are based on past designs I've drawn, so you may recognize a few but they fit really well, don't you think?

If you can sense a theme among the new ladies, that theme will representing a new gameplay mechanic I plan on adding! Will elaborate on it more in my monthly game update. Consider it a little teaser!
