Sasuke Chapter 90 Yoruichi Wants to Go To The Shinobi World?

The first sense to return was smell.

A familiar, faint scent of tea lingered at the tip of his nose.

Sasuke’s eyes snapped open.

What greeted him was the familiar wooden grain of the ceiling.

“This is...”

He sat up abruptly, scanning his surroundings. The ominous premonition in his heart was confirmed at that moment.

After four years, he had returned… returned to this world that did not belong to him.

Sasuke’s brows tightened.

His last memory was of the Naka River’s waters, the battlefield that had been completely flattened, and...

He instinctively raised a hand, as if he could still feel the wildly gathering, ultimately out of control destructive energy in his mouth.

And that man’s shocked Mangekyo Sharingan in the end.

Sasuke’s breath hitched slightly, “You better not die like this. Your life is mine.”

Just as he was lost in his own world, the wooden door of the room was gently pushed open.

Sado Yasutora’s tall figure entered first, carrying a bowl of steaming medicinal soup. Behind him was Orihime Inoue’s worried face.

“Sasuke-kun, you’re awake!”

Orihime’s face instantly broke into a gentle smile when she saw the figure sitting up on the bed, and she quickly walked over.

Sado also nodded, placing the bowl of medicinal soup on a low table nearby, his voice as steady as ever, “How do you feel? Are you okay?”

Sasuke didn’t answer immediately, only glancing at them before speaking slowly.

“...How long was I unconscious?”

The moment he spoke, not only himself but even Sado and Orihime were slightly stunned.

Sado scratched his cheek, his eyes filled with confusion, and he instinctively looked at Orihime, “Inoue, don’t you think...”

He paused, seemingly searching for the right words.

“Sasuke-kun’s voice now sounds a lot like Ishida’s?”

"Huh?!"

Orihime tilted her head upon hearing this, carefully examining Sasuke before nodding heavily, a look of realization dawning on her face, “It’s true! His voice has become much deeper! And...”

Her gaze swept over Sasuke’s body, her eyes filled with curiosity.

“Sasuke-kun, did you grow taller? It’s like you aged several years during the few days we were training!”

‘Grown up?’

Orihime’s offhand remark exploded in Sasuke’s mind.

Ignoring their stunned expressions, he threw off the covers and walked barefoot to the full-length mirror standing in the corner of the room.

The mirror reflected the figure of a youth.

Black short hair, dark eyes, facial features that had shed the last traces of childishness, becoming more distinct and cold.

His figure was no longer as thin as before, now slender and upright, with smooth, powerful muscle lines.

It was a face that was...

Both familiar and unfamiliar.

Familiar, because this was how he would look in the future.

Unfamiliar, because this body should not have appeared at this point in time.

Sasuke’s pupils contracted violently. He slowly raised a hand, gently touching the reflection of the youth’s face in the mirror with his fingertips.

“Well, well? Looks like our little genius is recovering quite well. So energetic already.”

A lazy voice came from the window, interrupting Sasuke’s thoughts.

Yoruichi had appeared there at some point, perched on the windowsill with one leg, watching the upright figure in front of the mirror with great interest.

She lightly pushed off with one foot, leaping down from the windowsill and landing silently on the room’s floor.

Crossing her arms, her gaze shifted between the mirror and Sasuke, the smile on her lips growing wider.

“Alright, alright. Sado, Orihime.”

She turned her head, waving to the stunned boy and girl at the door, “Leave this to me. You two go check on Kurosaki-san’s situation. He should be almost done with his training too.”

“Huh? But, Sasuke-kun, he...” Orihime wanted to say more but was gently pulled by the arm by Sado beside her.

“Let’s go, Inoue.” he said in a deep voice.

Orihime hesitated for a moment before finally nodding. She gave Sasuke a concerned glance before following Sado out of the room.

As the wooden door closed gently, the room fell silent once more.

Yoruichi walked slowly to the low table, sitting down and pouring herself a cup of tea that had already cooled somewhat.

“What happened over there?”

Her voice was no longer teasing as before but held a note of curiosity, “You look like you’ve experienced a very long period of time.”

Sasuke’s gaze slowly shifted from the face in the mirror. He turned and walked back to sit on the bed, his eyes filled with complex emotions.

‘What happened?’

That question brought too many things to mind at once.

He pressed his lips together and remained silent for a long time, as if organizing his thoughts.

Seeing Sasuke’s hesitant expression, Yoruichi didn’t press further.

She drained the tea in her cup and placed it gently on the table.

“Forget it if you don’t want to talk.”

Her tone was casual, as if the question had been just a passing thought.

Then, she leaned forward slightly and asked the most critical question.

"So, what was the result?"

“Did you learn Bankai?”

Hearing the word ‘Bankai’, the complex emotions in Sasuke’s eyes instantly faded, replaced by disappointment.

He slowly shook his head.

"No."

This answer made Yoruichi’s eyebrows rise slightly, as if surprised.

Sasuke didn’t explain further, only reaching out to summon the pitch-black sword leaning against the wall into his hand.

He placed the Zanpakuto named Indra across his knees, his voice low.

"Although I haven't mastered Bankai, I..."

He raised his head, looking directly at Yoruichi, "I learned the name of this blade."

"Oh?"

A glint of interest flashed in Yoruichi's eyes.

"And…" Sasuke continued, a note of confidence in his tone, "I integrated that world's power system with my own Reiatsu and developed some new techniques."

"New techniques?"

Yoruichi was genuinely intrigued now.

She sprang up from the floor, a look of excitement on her face as if she had discovered a new toy, and grabbed Sasuke's wrist.

"Let's go!"

"Where to?" Sasuke frowned instinctively.

"To the underground training ground, of course!"

Yoruichi grinned, revealing a set of white teeth, "Talking about it is boring. I want to see it with my own eyes."

Without waiting for his response, she pulled the still somewhat stunned Sasuke along and dashed out of the room.

Sasuke followed behind her, walking in silence.

His mind was still echoing with the image of the fifteen-year-old youth's face in the mirror.

"Hey."

Yoruichi's voice broke the silence unexpectedly.

She didn't turn around but slowed her pace to walk side by side with Sasuke, studying his sharply defined profile with curiosity.

"What are you thinking about?"

"Nothing." Sasuke replied curtly, as usual.

"Is that so?"

Yoruichi chuckled softly, clearly not buying it, "Then let's talk about something else."

She tilted her head, her tone brimming with barely contained curiosity, "What is that world you went to really like?"

Sasuke glanced at her but didn't answer immediately.

Yoruichi didn't press him, merely watching him with an inquisitive gaze before adding,

"Kisuke only told me that their power system is called Chakra, which sounds interesting, but he was vague about the details."

A sly smile curled at the corner of her lips, "He said it's best heard from someone who's experienced it firsthand."

Sasuke fell silent for a moment before finally speaking slowly.

"Everything is different."

"Hm?" Yoruichi was slightly surprised.

"There are no Reishi there."

Sasuke's voice was flat, "No Hollows, and no Shinigami like us. But after death, souls go to a place called the Pure Land."

Yoruichi's golden eyes widened slightly, ‘A world without Reishi?’

‘Then where does their power come from?’

"The people there don't draw their power from the outside world." Sasuke seemed to read her thoughts, "It comes from within themselves."

He paused, explaining the composition of that world's power, "They combine Physical Energy extracted from the body with Spiritual Energy honed through willpower to form Chakra."

"Then, through hand gestures called 'hand seals,' they guide chakra to perform various ‘Ninjutsu’."

"Hand seals?" Yoruichi repeated with interest, "Is it like incantations for Kido?"

"Not exactly."

Sasuke shook his head, "Kido’s incantations are more like declaring rules to the world, borrowing spirit particles to exert power."

"Hand seals, on the other hand, are purely a way of 'commanding' the power within one's own body."

He raised his hands and performed a few basic hand seals at a dizzying speed in front of Yoruichi.

"Twelve basic seals correspond to the twelve Zodiacs. Different combinations can unleash a myriad of techniques."

Yoruichi watched his fluid movements with curiosity.

She let out a meaningful sigh, "Using the body's language to command one's own power? That does sound quite interesting."

She turned her head, a hint of teasing in her tone, "You stayed there for so long. You must have learned quite a few of these interesting 'Ninjutsu’, right?"

"Hmm." Sasuke replied calmly.

"Are there many strong people there?" Yoruichi pressed further. This was what interested her the most.

"Yes."

Images of Jiraiya, Orochimaru, and Itachi flashed through Sasuke's mind.

"There are some individuals whose methods might be ridiculous, but their strength is not to be underestimated."

"Oh?"

Yoruichi's interest grew, "How strong are they? Compared to Captain-level Shinigami?"

Sasuke fell silent.

He couldn't answer that question.

Because he himself had never engaged in a life-or-death battle against a Captain-level Shinigami without holding back.

Seeing Sasuke's silence, Yoruichi didn't press further.

She simply stretched lazily, flexing her agile body, her tone full of yearning.

"I really want to see it for myself."

She sighed, "A world without Reishi but with a complete power system of its own. Just thinking about it makes my blood boil."

She turned her head, staring directly at Sasuke, half-joking and half-serious.

"Hey, kid, next time you go, can you find a way to take me with you?"

Sasuke's footsteps halted slightly.

He looked at Yoruichi's eager face, and a thought flashed through his mind.

‘Take her?’

‘I couldn't even guarantee my own stable return, let alone bring someone along.’

"It's difficult."

Just as Yoruichi thought the matter was settled, a calm voice continued, "...but not entirely impossible."
