Unexpected setback

I'm using Gamemaker 2 for my games.
I don't know how they did it but recently the command to make a game open a webpage broke. For some reason they always add "%22" to the beginning of the URL. The games I'm working on usually have a button to open a link to this patreon page.
They released a major update for Gamemaker 2 like 1-2 months ago which I haven't been using cause I was afraid it would break things. Guess what?
I downloaded the update in hopes it would fix the issue and it broke EVERYTHING.
Neither my older nor my newer games can be converted into the newer version of Gamemaker 2. I searched the official forums, I searched reddit - some people were having the same issue but everyone who found a "fix" only fixed their own specific problem - there is no easy fix.
I tried a lot of things and it ate up half of my day. Now I'm just stressed, exhausted.... but also a little relieved. I managed to uninstall the update and downgrade back to the previous version of Gamemaker 2. I can continue working with the old version now.
Though my original problem is still not fixed, I suppose there will just not be a button to open this webpage in future versions of Touch&Watch and the game I'm currently working on.
