I don't 100% trust Ariel yet, but I will say, I'm very happy that she seems genuinely considerate of Slyphie & her wellbeing. She defied my expectations, I'll admit, by not abusing or taking advantage of Slyphie beyond what her job description would entail... and it felt natural that they'd eventually become such close friends over the years spent together.
So glad we're back with this show... can't wait to see what'll happen during the Depressed Magician arc & beyond, so fingers crossed the director change won't negatively affect the production & show quality!
PS: I didn't realize it on first viewing, but now I understand the "vulgar" euphemisms during the first scene with Ariel & Luke... definitely didn't expect that but it does provide early foreshadowing to Ariel's sexual preference.
