Honestly, very surprised about this revelation... makes me wonder if Mother was attempting to keep Maria from falling apart mentally & emotionally by starting & maintaining this lie. I do enjoy that her words were basically immediately disproven as well, the irony of Kirika's line was perfect for the situation.
Meanwhile, our girl was on fire! ...No, seriously, Hibiki was very literally burning the air & environment around herself and I love this development, the glowing aspect & the way she's capable of leeching others energy (thus stopping the VERY dangerous Superb Song combo) is so damn cool. Only time will tell how we'll overcome this hurdle for her, cause we all know she won't stay off the battlefield forever, our girl's got a penchant for stumbling into trouble & saving others after all!
