Announcement - Release Schedule Change

Hey All,

Since we've started on Patreon, our game/update release schedule has always been at the end of the month. Over the last few builds, we've noticed a number of issues with this approach which affects both the game's development and the patron's experience. To fix these issues and hopefully make things easier for everyone, we'll now be aiming to release a new build between the 5th and 10th PST of every second month (instead of the end of every second month).

This new schedule changes the following:

• A 5 day release window will give us more time to finish features (if required) ensuring smaller builds following the main release (eg, v0.19.1) will be minor changes and bug fixes only (rather than missing features).
• Patrons during a release month will also have access to the smaller builds because they'll be released within the same month (rather than having to pledge for the release month and the month after).
• More time given to patrons if they'd like to opt out of pledging after a release month.
• Patron rewards (specifically Connoisseur sketches) will no longer be delayed for a build and be released on time.
• Releasing at the start of the month (rather than the end) will help in worst case scenarios where if we need a day or two more for the build for whatever reason, patrons for the release month won't be affected and ensures patrons will still receive the build on the month they're pledged for.
• Builds can be released at a more reasonable time of the day (rather than a couple hours before midnight PST).

With this new release schedule, the next major release (v0.20) is scheduled to release between the 5th and 10th of March. Public builds will continue to release roughly a week after a major release.

We hope this change will make our releases and rewards more consistent moving forward and relieve any pressure for patrons worried we might not release before the end of the month they pledged for. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask :)
