TBE Chapter 104

TBE Chapter 104

Ezekiel, Robert, Luke, and Simon left Edward the minstrel to his devices. At first, Simon asked Ezekiel if he was worried that the minstrel would run away with the items.

“If Edward does something like that, we would then know his true character, but he probably would remain loyal to me since he still hopes to learn my magic. Not only that, because of my ability to provide him high-quality items, he would earn a good amount of coins for acting as our merchant.”

“Can we learn your magic?” Robert asked.

Ezekiel understood why his brother kept asking that question. If he were in their situation, he would want to learn magic as well.

“As of right now, I still don’t know how to teach my magic to others. I don’t even know if I can teach it in the future. I do want to teach you magic, but if it’s not possible, you don’t need to worry too much because I will do everything I can to make sure that both you and Luke will want for nothing. I will do everything I can to provide you with anything you need once you choose something that you want to do for the rest of your life,” Ezekiel promised Robert.

“I want to be a pirate!” Luke suddenly shouted, and a good thing that they were still walking downstairs and no one heard them. Probably.

“Shh, Luke. You can’t say something like that!” Whispered Ezekiel urgently to his youngest brother.

“Why not!” Luke shouted again.

“Pirates are bandits and thieves. The reason why Luffy said that they’re pirates is because they’re located in a place where Pirates meant that they’re sea adventurers, but here in our world, pirates are bad people who hurt others for coins,” Ezekiel told his brother.

“I don’t want to live here then. I want to live where Luffy lives,” Luke pouted.

“I want to visit that place too, and maybe someday, we will,” Ezekiel said, and that seemed to comfort not only Luke, but Robert and Simon as well.

They ate breakfast provided by the inn, and it was a simple one consisting of eggs and bread. Ezekiel didn’t want to get embarrassed by hearing his brothers loudly complain about the food, so he surreptitiously cast the Prestidigitation spell on them so they would be well seasoned, and the water to taste like fruit juice.

“Brother, the inn’s food is as good as your food!” Luke loudly said, which was heard by the waitress, who only smiled at the boy.

“Idiot! It’s because brother magicked our food!” Robert told his brother again, loud enough for others to hear.

Of course, Ezekiel wasn’t worried even if they were overheard because more than likely, everything the boys said would be attributed to their young and active imagination. The only problem was, Simon suddenly looked nervous, but he just rolled his eyes at their guardian.

The boys’ conversation then headed to who was more “stupid,” and Ezekiel had to stop them.

The first thing they did was go to where the cart was located so they could pick up Robert and Luke's backpacks there, but then Ezekiel thought that it might be better for them to purchase bags from the local market instead.

The three boys, followed by Simon, walked around town looking at the various shops that they could visit and purchase things. The first shop that they went to was one that was selling leather bags, shoes, belts, and pouches.

Since all of them were wearing clothing from the system store, which was clothing from a cosplay shop focusing on medieval clothing, the four of them looked like they had coins, so the merchant welcomed them.

Even though Ezekiel could keep buying things from his system store, and it was much cheaper, it would still be best if they purchased from the local merchants because the items from the system store consisted of parts that could not be explained, like plastic, synthetic, or blended fabrics.

It wasn’t noticeable at a distance, but if a tailor examined their clothing, those parts would be highly noticeable.

When Ezekiel told the salesman they were interested in purchasing shoes, bags, belts, and coin pouches for everyone, the salesman’s smile grew but when he saw the scowling Simon which Ezekiel instructed him to do, the smiled cooled down a bit.

Just like any man, Ezekiel didn’t spend a long time shopping. Once everyone was fitted with high-quality good good-looking shoes that everyone accepted, he then asked everyone to choose a belt and a bag each. Robert, Luke, and Simon started running around the store. Ezekiel saw that the salesman was about to complain, but when he saw Ezekiel playing with three gold coins, he immediately went and entertained the boys.

Robert and Luke complained that there were no backpacks. Just leather suitcases and shoulder bags. Ezekiel told them to choose one suitcase each and one shoulder bag each to the delight of the salesman. Soon, the salesman was joined by another man who came from somewhere and according to the man who was assisting them, he was the owner of the leather goods store.

After they were done choosing the items they wanted, each of the boys had one leather suitcase, one leather shoulder bag, a belt, and a pair of shoes. The total amount of everything they purchased was around 80 plus silver coins.

“Since there are 20 silver coins left, convince my brothers to spend the remaining 15 silver coins, and the 5 silver coins will be your tip,” Ezekiel told the salesman.

Because of that statement, the Salesman enthusiastically showed each product to Robert, Luke, and Simon. The good thing was, the owner didn’t insert himself and allowed his salesman to handle everything but when he saw Ezekiel just watching, the man went near him.

“My name is Bruce, and I own this store. I’m amazed that your parents allowed you to handle managing the coins for your brothers.”

“My parents believed that I’m very mature for my age and said that this kind of responsibility will teach me to handle our family’s business.”

Ezekiel remained silent after that, and the owner of the leather shop was wise enough to let him be. After a few more minutes, his brothers and Simon returned with a bunch of goods like leather coin pouches, hats, and even leather bracers for some reason. The salesman who followed them looked triumphant. He gave the man the gold coin and asked Simon to gather the things they had purchased and bring them back to the inn, except for the things they were wearing, like their shoulder bags, belts, shoes, and hats. They only waited for a few minutes when Simon returned.

They said goodbye to the owner of the leather goods store and the salesman who kept thanking them and returned to their exploration of the town of Cleaveland. The only thing Ezekiel could say about their current experience was, a large town was much better when it came to shopping compared to a much smaller village.

Not far from the leather goods store, they saw a clothing shop, so they all went inside. The merchant who was looking after the shop was the group's new shoes, belts, and bags, and the lady probably recognized them, so she welcomed them with open arms.

“What do you need for your young children, sir?” the lady merchant asked Simon.

“Ma’am, Simon is our guardian, and we all need two full sets of clothing for each of us. Please make sure that they were not the same with each other and it should fit everyone perfectly. We need, shirts, pants, underpants, socks and whatever we may need.”

The lady merchant clapped her hands, and three girls appeared as if by magic. After several minutes of measuring, which caused a lot of giggles from Robert and Luke and blushing from Simon. Ezekiel just sighed and allowed the girls to measure his body.

Ezekiel had little experience with women, and if he were with his normal body, he would have been enjoying himself, but the fact that his current body was very young, he supposed that it wasn’t mature enough for him to start thinking about the opposite sex. He was a little thankful for that because his focus wouldn’t be marred by infatuations.

They spent two hours in the clothing shop, but after that time, they had two high-quality shirts, pants, underpants, and socks each. Since the quality was superior to anything that one could see in any village, the price tag was superior as well. He had to pay the clothing merchant 1 gold and 50 silver coins.

They changed into their new clothes and kept the other new clothes and the old ones in their shoulder bags. It was exactly noon when they completed their shoes and clothes shopping, so they searched for a nice restaurant where they could eat.

They found what looked like a very high-class restaurant, and Ezekiel wanted to try the fine dining of this world. The restaurant welcomed them probably because of their new high-quality clothing, but what Ezekiel didn’t know was that not only were the people looking at the clothes, they were also looking at their skin and hair.

Regular folks wouldn’t sport a smooth, fair skin like theirs, and even Simon, who grew up as a serf, looked a little like a noble because of his smooth skin brought by using the Healing Elixir as a lotion.
