Someday she'll probably do a Q&A to answer such things, but basically she was a witch and after she was put to death a necromancer resurrected her because he thought he could make use of her power...but the 'wraith' version of Asphodel doesn't remember anything about her life or any of her magic, so now he's just stuck with a weird pet xD

Also, I might have asked this before, but Asphodel is suppose to be a witch, right? I figure that's why you have the cards, and how she turns into the 'less alive' version later?
