Struggling with Cadance's face
Added 2022-11-03 20:01:20 +0000 UTCSOOOOO about that Cadance... after putting color on it I realized something is off about the face. So I went to try and adjust it... I could not arrive at a satisfactory conclusion.
Allow me to let you in on something about this picture: I have been STRUGGLING really really hard to draw a face on this Cadance ever since I first sketched the rough in 201-whateverteen. I have now tried and failed to give her a face a dozen times or so. To my standards of course.
Nothing is wrong with the head shape or body. I have skeletoned and re-skeletoned her a thousand times. I just cannot give her a face.
This seems to be a curse with Cadance and I. When I tried to draw this exact same concept way back in 2012 I gave up on it for the same reason. I could not draw her a good face.
I, for now, have hit my mental limit for the evening. I am mega frustrated and exhausted now. I have been at it for three solid hours and on top of things, my crappy chair is making my back hurt real bad.
Sorry, I wanted to post something tonight.

D: Yeah, sounds like a good time to take a break. Sometime the process just doesn't want to flow that day.

I always find coming back to a pick days (or weeks, or months, God I'm bad about it) helps me to see it in a new light. I'll even wait a few days (up to a whole week) after I finish a pic in case something about it stands out that I think would be better.
