In response to the comments on my last text post, thank you. Genuinely. I get lost in my head a lot, reading what you had to say helped me a lot. Likewise, Lil' miss Jay and Boiler3 did some example work for me to help with hue choices, and Cellyphone (Codras) offered as well.
Turns out I was actually doing it pretty close to right, and I just had a bit of an internal collapse. Artist lore says Applejack is a consistent pain to shade, especially for night lighting. :B So I wasn't alone in the struggle.
