Update on 1.18 Vanilla Server (Dec. 2021)

Hey Patrons!

I hope your Holiday season is off to a festive start! I know Minecraft updated to 1.18 on Nov. 30th and wanted to write up a quick post here to update you all on the plans for our Vanilla server as well as open things up for some discussion.

So we’re not ready to update the Vanilla server to 1.18 yet, in large part due to waiting for data packs and plugins to update. I’ve been chatting with Skynode about this and they said they’d let me know when those things are stable and ready to go. Our plans for the server are to start a completely new world. The old 1.16/1.17 world will hopefully be saved and my hope is that I’ll be able to offer it as an exclusive World Download for those at the Pro Tier and above.

Here’s where I’d love to hear from you tho, especially those who have played on the 1.16/1.17 server:

What are some ideas or changes we could make to the 1.18 server to make it even better than the previous one?

Are there data packs you’d like to see added or taken out?

Do you want to have a shared storage system across the entire server or keep things individual?

Do you want to run shops again?

Any focus on large community projects, towns, mini games, etc?

Things like that 😊

As I said when we launched the 1.16 server back in June of 2020, this server is for you guys and I’d love to see everyone come together as a community to make it the best it can be. So I’ll open this post up to feedback from everyone and if you could keep the posts and ideas HERE in the comments that’d be awesome! Obviously you can continue to discuss things on the Discord but because text can get buried there it might be helpful to make sure key ideas & points are posted here as well. I obviously don’t want to overcomplicate this server and would obviously like to keep things vanilla so people who sign up can easily join, but it might be fun to see what ideas/changes/improvements you have for this one over our previous one.
