PATREON SERVER DETAILS!!!

Hey everyone!

Okay, this is so exciting! This post will be relatively long, but please take the time to read through it as it contains some very important information & rules regarding the server 😊

Server Objective

The objective of this server is to first and foremost to create a place where our community can come together and have a great time playing a game that we all love! Whether you're a Minecraft pro and play all the time, someone who is just coming back to the game after a while, or someone who hasn't played much at all; I want this server to be an inclusive and fun experience for everyone.

Before I get too far ahead of myself, I should also make note that I personally do not have time to "manage" everything in regards to the server. I'll discuss more around this topic below, but please keep this in mind.

Along with having this server be an inclusive and fun experience for everyone, I'd also like to note something very important: This server is for you! The fate and success of this server relies on you and it will become what you make of it! I hope all of you would like for this server to be fun and enjoyable, both for yourselves and others. An example here could be that the server lasts forever, and is an extremely positive experience for everyone. OR, that the server lasts 3 weeks and gets closed down due to people being mean to each other, griefing (destroying) people's builds and houses, etc. I'm going to safely assume you guys would like the first example here 😊 I trust that all of you will be well behaved, especially since you are paying for access to the server...but I felt it should still be mentioned.

Server Rules

Along with myself, we will have a few moderators. These are also moderators from our community Discord, so if you see them on the server please say hi to them. They're all very nice! At the present time, the moderators that have expressed interest in playing on the server and helping me maintain the peace are:

Each of these moderators will have the ability to kick or ban on the server if needed...tho I hope that's never the case! Below are a list of rules that will be enforced on the server:

1. Please do not build anything at spawn (see image). The spawn chunk on the server stays loaded at all times and can create lag if things are built in it. Chunks are a 16x16 area, so just outside of the little clearing you spawn in will be fine.

2. Please refrain from using profanity in the server chat

3. Please refrain from spamming the server chat

4. Hate speech of any kind will not be tolerated

5. Be respectful to all other members of the server

6. Griefing or destroying something another player has built will not be tolerated

7. Recording videos or streaming from the server is allowed! However, please check with others first if you would like to do something with them in the video. For example, if Player A wands to record a video, and they have a silly prank idea they want to play on Player B, please check with Player B to see if that is okay with them before doing the prank and filming it. This should be common sense, but ties back into #5, being respectful of other members of the server.

8. Pranks are allowed but only if they're harmless. A rule we have on the Legacy SMP server is "Pranks are fine, but don't do something that you wouldn't want to clean up yourself." So for example, early in the season Viggo and I built a large dirt box around Jimmy's house. Thankfully he was fine taking it down, but if he wasn't, Viggo and I were more than happy to clean it up for him. If pranks get out of hand, or certain people aren't okay with them then I will revise this rule. But for now, assuming you guys want this server to give off that "authentic vanilla SMP vibe," I'm fine with it.

9. PvP is allowed as well, but again, killing others without asking them first would be a direct violation of #5. We have PvP on the Legacy SMP server and it allows for us to have the option of creating some fun server games, etc. but if this is something that gets out of hand then I will consider revising this rule.

10. Please avoid posting about topics in the server chat that pertain to self harm, violence, "adult" material, mild or suggestive content, illegal substances, or controversial or political topics.

11. This is a VANILLA server! So if you die and lose all your stuff, that's just the way she goes! Of course, as long as it's not in lava, you can ask for someone else on the server to help you get it back. But asking mods (or myself) for your items back won't be tolerated. The only exceptions here may be in some extremely rare scenarios such as super rare bugs or something. But again, on the Legacy SMP server if we die, that's on us and truthfully most items in the game you can get again 😃

12. Please do not use the server chat to promote your or other's streams or content. If you make a video from the server or are streaming from the server and would like to share it with the other members of the server, you can do so in the Patreon-only Discord chat. But please keep this to content that is about the server itself...not just any video you made.

Server Goals

My hope here is that this server will help bring the community together. I feel so truly blessed to have an audience online that supports me and enjoys the things I create...and I feel even MORE blessed to have each one of you here supporting me financially through Patreon! Starting a server for you guys is something I've wanted to do for a long time, but I just never really knew how or had a good time to do it. Now feels like the perfect time, and I'd be silly to not mention the massive help I've had from Skynode for hosting this server for us. If you see TychoLoke on the server, he works for Skynode so please tell him thank you!

As for broader goals of the server, as I said above, this experience will be what you guys make of it! I would absolutely love to see you guys designate certain areas for things...like "Hey, in this area we're going to build only in the Medieval Style" or "Let's build all of our shops here!" Huge community projects are amazing too and I'd love to see some of those as well! I hope you all utilize the Patreon-Chat in the Discord to organize and plan these things together. If it becomes too hard to organize there, we can also open up something like a "Patreon Server Chat" in the Discord as well so that the Patreon Chat can just be for general stuff. But I think for now we'll just use the chat we have.

I'd love to see you guys create a server economy too. One of the most fun things I've been a part of on the Legacy SMP server has been building shops and selling items. It also inadvertently helps split up tasks across the server, thus making it easier for everyone to get more blocks in the game than they'd be able to in a single player world. For example, if someone wants to build a Guardian farm and sell a one time pass that grants unlimited access to that farm, then do it! We have one on the Legacy server and I can just AFK there overnight and have enough prismarine shards and prismarine crystals to make as many Sea Lanterns as I want. It's awesome! I would love to see things like this happen on our server as well!

I'd also love to see some amazing builds! Even if you don't think you are a good builder, you can ask others for help! Maybe someone on the server is really good at building so feel free to ask them for help, or even go look at their place to see if you can figure out how they got things to look the way they did. I've done that so many times on the Legacy server and it's helped me learn a lot!

Again, this is all what you make it, so I won't force you into anything! I am very VERY excited to see what comes of all of this, as well as what is built, created, etc.

My Involvement

I will try to spend as much time on the server as I can, as I know many of you have stated that it is a dream of yours to play Minecraft with me 😊 I understand that feeling and am very humbled by it! Knowing that, and also just loving the feeling that an amazing Minecraft server brings, I will try to be as active on the server as I can be. However, I would also like to mention that I can't be on the server all the time. Obviously, my family comes first. Second to that is creating videos on YouTube. Of course, in and around those two life priorities are dozens of other things...but during the times where I truly do get some free time I will try my absolute best to jump on and play with you guys. All I'm asking is that you respect that.

I'd also like to mention that just because we'll all be on a server together, doesn't mean that I'll be inviting people to private calls to record videos or something. A few have asked me something along those lines, and the answer is no. I will be doing occasional live streams from the server as well as occasional videos, but those will be recorded or streamed solo. Again, this server is for you and about you! You guys are the ones supporting me, and creating an amazing place to hang out and play a game we love is one of the ways I give back and say "thank you!"

How does tomorrow sound? 😎 I'm not sure exactly what time yet, but I'm planning on streaming tomorrow on Twitch...probably early afternoon Eastern Time (maybe 1 or 2pm EST) and I'd like to do it from the Patreon server!

I sincerely hope you guys are as excited about this as I am! If there's anything I missed or forgot, I'll add it to this post...or if it's something super important I'll just write up a new post about that topic or something. I'm still figuring this whole Patreon thing out so forgive me if there are some bumps along the way!
