In the city of GreenWood, the GymClub clock read 11:48 p.m. The bright lighting of the room bathed the place in an artificial white light that contrasted with the black night outside. Boruk, a massive orc, was one of the last people still present in this space. The few remaining members of the fitness club left one after the other, giving way to an almost intimate atmosphere. But Boruk did not seem to pay attention to this growing solitude.
The sound of metal and his heavy breathing punctuated the air, accompanying each repetition of his titanic exercise. In front of him, a barbell loaded with metal discs reaching a mass close to 700 kilos — a load that no human could have even dreamed of lifting. But Boruk was not human. His muscles bulged, sweat beaded on his green skin and mingled with the glare of the artificial lights. Every movement he made seemed to defy the laws of gravity.
Wearing only a pair of athletic boxers, a stretchy fabric already stretched to its limits, Boruk was battling more than gravity. His balls, the result of twenty-nine days of enforced abstinence, had become an annoying presence, stretching the fabric to the point of threatening to tear it. Every movement made the seams of the boxers crackle, but Boruk kept his eyes fixed on his bar, focused like a wild animal ready to pounce.
Exercise was an outlet for him. During those long weeks in November, Jonathan, his human, had applied himself to testing the limits of his will with constant teasing and cleverly set traps. But Boruk, strong in his honor and determination, had held firm. Yet in this moment, with only twelve minutes left in the month, every fiber of his being seemed to scream at him.
