Q&A regarding develop progress
Added 2018-07-30 21:33:26 +0000 UTCQ: Why is the progress slower than other visual novel project?
A: Aside from the visual novel aspect of Notes of Hearts, the game contains a combat system, which calls for more extensive work in comparison to other visual novels. There is a need for additional attention regarding areas, playable character design, enemies, bosses, maps for exploration, items, skill system, and all the coding and art assets which the project requires.
Q: Where are we in the progress right now?
A: We are at the end of development of chapter 2. We have spent the past few months on expanding and bug fixing the overall system of the game (mostly combat and exploration related), since chapter 2-6 are much larger in terms of both story and system, than what has been featured in chapter 1. Development time of chapter 3-6 are expected to be shorter than that of chapter 2, as many of the core features have already been established and implemented in the game
Q: Can you update the demo more frequently?
A: We are experimenting with different ways to update the demo more frequently. The obstacle that has been holding us back, has been the fact that each new piece of content is often directly connected to other WIP content (a soundtrack, an animation or a entire map). In the past we have been hesitant on showcasing WIP content publicly, but weve decided to engage more with the updated demo version, and allow everyone to follow the development progress.
