[STORY] The United Worlds - Gorethar

Gorethar, a mystical planet inhabited by a multitude of intelligent races—ranging from orcs, elves, and dwarves to werewolves, anthropomorphic creatures, centaurs, dragons, and many others—is a land steeped in medieval ambiance. It is bathed in magic and mystic alchemy, brimming with secrets buried within its vast expanses.

One of the oldest mysteries lies at the heart of an immense forest known as the Forest of Shadows, spanning tens of thousands of square kilometers. At its center stand the ancient ruins of a long-forgotten Elven civilization not recorded in the old manuscripts of Gorethar. Some ancient texts hint at a cataclysm, ancient and powerful magic described as malevolent, but the details remain enigmatic.

Fifty years ago, the veil over the existence of these ruins was lifted by the appearance of a powerful beam of light shining beyond the edges of the forest. This led to an expedition led by a group of orcs from a village to the east of the vast forest. Legend has it that they never returned. Despite relentless searches leading all to the ruins, no trace of the original expedition was found, except for a structure emanating an unknown and frightening magic, perceived as evil by shamans and mages. A consensus emerged among them: "This place must be forgotten!" Since that event, the Forest of Shadows has been deemed cursed.

However, over the years, curiosity persisted, and the most intrepid of all races defied the prohibition to explore the area. Yet, like those before them, they mysteriously vanished.

One day, an orc named Boruk, eager for adventure, made the bold decision to aim to reach this cursed place alone. Upon arrival, he discovered the ancient ruins. As he explored, a structure resembling a portal came to life before his eyes. Despite the warnings embedded in the legends of his own tribe, Boruk made a reckless decision: he chose to cross the portal, casting one last look behind him at what might be the final view of his familiar world. A shiver ran down his spine, mingling the excitement of the unknown with the tension of the mystery awaiting him on the other side.

It's been a while since I've been talking to you about this fantastic universe linking the Earth and the planet Gorethar (yes, I finally found a name that I like to define this magical planet filled with mystical creatures). So here is the first story of "The United Worlds" that introduces Gorethar and Boruk before his arrival on Earth.

Just to let you know, I'm not aiming to write a novel, just to introduce this universe and its characters through text. The rest will be conveyed through images ;)

Gorethar, une planète mystique, habitée par une multitude de races intelligentes, oscillant entre orcs, elfes, nains, loups-garous, créatures anthropomorphes, centaures, dragons, et bien d'autres. Cette terre, empreinte d'une ambiance médiévale, est bercée par la magie, l'alchimie mystique, et elle regorge de secrets enfouis dans ses vastes étendues.

L'un des mystères les plus anciens se cache au cœur d'une immense forêt, La forêt des ombres, étendue sur des dizaines de millier de kilomètres carrés. En son centre se dressent d'antiques ruines d'une ancienne civilisation Elfe non répertorié dans les vieux manuscrits de Gorethar. Quelques textes anciens font allusion à un cataclysme, une magie ancienne et puissante, qualifiée de maléfique, mais les détails restent énigmatiques.

Il y a une cinquantaine d'année, le voile sur l'existence de ces ruines a été levé après l'apparition d'un puissant rayon de lumière éclairant au delà des alentours de la forêt, entraînant une expédition dirigée par un groupe d'orcs venant d'un village à l'Est de la gigantesque forêt. La légende veut qu'ils ne soient jamais revenus. Malgré d'incessantes recherches conduisant toutes aux ruines, aucune trace de l'expédition initiale n'a été découverte, si ce n'est une structure rayonnant d'une magie inconnue et effrayante, perçue comme maléfique par les chamans et les mages. Un consensus émergea parmi eux : "ce lieu doit être oublié !" Depuis cet événement, la forêt des Ombres fut désignée comme maudite.

Cependant, au fil des années, la curiosité persista, et les plus intrépides de toutes les races bravèrent l'interdit pour explorer les lieux. Mais, comme ceux avant eux, ils disparurent mystérieusement.

Un jour, un orc du nom de Boruk, avide d'aventure, prit la décision audacieuse de se donner pour objectif d'atteindre seul ce lieu maudit. Une fois sur place, il découvrit les ruines antiques. En explorant les lieux, une structure ressemblant à un portail s'anima sous ses yeux. Malgré les avertissements ancrés dans les légendes de sa propre tribu, Boruk prit une décision téméraire : il décida de traverser le portail, jetant un dernier regard derrière lui sur ce qui pourrait bien être la dernière vision de son monde familier. Un frisson parcourut son échine, mêlant l'excitation de l'inconnu à la tension du mystère qui l'attendait de l'autre côté.

Ca fait un bail que je vous parle de cet univers fantastique liant la planète terre et la planète Gorethar (oui j'ai enfin trouver un nom qui me plait pour définir cette planète magique remplis de créatures mystique)

Voici donc le premier récit de "The United Worlds" qui introduit Gorethar et Boruk avant son arrivé sur Terre.

Pour info, je ne cherche pas à écrire un roman, juste introduire par le texte cet univers et ses personnages. Pour le reste, ce sera les images qui parleront ;)
