Thinking Beyond the Book

I've put a lot of time into thinking through what to do with Glumdark now that the book is in production. The two projects that remain top of mind for me are the Glumdark Game and of course: Glumdark Space.

Well, I'm officially starting in earnest on both. God help me.

GLUMDARK SPACE

To prove I'm serious, I started by updating the sort of 'core' Glumdark Space table, which is Things Found in a Derelict Space Station. This is clearly the "Things Found in a Dungeon" of the Space world. So I took some time this week to upgrade it from a D66 table to a D100 table.

I've started working on a big list of other tables to write, but please let me know if there are particular tables that you'd use in your space games and I'll add it to the collection. I'm hoping that at the very least I can crank out one per week.

I have a pretty complete idea of what I want the Glumdark Space book to look like, if that ever comes to fruition. But in order to design it, I'm first going to have to write it.

GLUMDARK: THE GAME

I've started working out what the game rules would be and I'm inching closer to a v0.1.0. It will be a mix of cards and character sheets where:

A) Death is common
B) Consciousness is consistent between deaths
C) Rolling a new character is as easy as drawing a set of cards

Vil has been helping me think through some of the finer points of the rule system and I'll be sure to include everyone here in future play tests as those things get closer.

YOUR INPUT

I want to hear what you love and hate about different TTRPG game systems. The more ideas we can sift through and synthesize, the better off we'll be.

I'm also open to collaborating, particularly on an adventure module for the upcoming game system. Ping me and let's talk if you're looking to work together on something.
