Regarding the translated signage: I am part of a fansubbing group and replacing japanese characters with english ones is the job of a person called "typesetter". They look for appropriate fonts that match the original style as close as possible, they mask the original sign and they create color gradients where needed. They also track the sign using software if it moves during the scene. Sadly official subs usually do not bother with this. They either put a translation right next to the sign (which looks bad) or they do not bother translating at all. I can't wait for you to get caught up to see you're reaction. I couldn't wait and got caught up on the manga! 😊

Haha your reactions to the high-school love triangle stuff was great. There is a good amount of romance in this series with misunderstandings and "will they, won't they". But to Dan Da Dan's credit, romantic tension isn't based on miscommunication that lasts for episodes. They resolve a misunderstanding by clearly stating their feelings. Very healthy!

Long time anime watcher here (since 2006). Dubs used to be terrible because there wasn't much money in the English-speaking audience. They weren't able to get talented voice actors so it was subs every time. Plus plenty was not officially translated so you only had fan subs. That said, dubs are a lot better these days and this is a top tier dub. The performances capture the same energy as the Japanese actors do.

I actually went back and checked the Vintage Clothing store name in the subbed version and it's there, so it wasn't a change, it just had an English name. I watch subs normally, so I rarely notice if things are changed like that. In the mangas however - changing onomatopeias and inscriptions, when the comics are published in other countries, is quite an important and time-consuming job.
