You're just overall delightful to watch, and I like hearing you talk (hence why I'm on your Patreon) so ye keep the intros and stuff

Opal Evergreen

nope! I def want to go back to it, just doing a lot of shows atm. So I wanted to mess around with other stuff and trickle in some Hellsing <3

Still enjoying ithe Gravity Falls reactions here. Is the hiatus on Hellsing Ultimate Abridged permanent?

Basically a mirror damaged by a laser will start of discolored from the coatings being compromised and eventually the backside will start to burn. At this point the laser will no longer reflect well, so it will hopefully be replaced before any actual melting or fire happens.

Curious about this too, so the refraction of the light causes the laser to be redirected as perceived in media but if the mirror absorbers too much or the coating on the mirror is not of quality what happens? Would the laser just not get refracted and just hit the point like normal or if the energy was high enough could it melt the mirror? Either way, I think the biggest misconception about light and lasers in media is the travel time, since it's literally moving at the speed of light you wouldn't be able to see it bouncing off all these surfaces without an obstruction like steam or fog, especially not with a short burst of light instead of a long steady beam that is unchanged.

I work with lasers and unlike often depicted in media, there are no lasers which present a physical "pushing" force. Lasers are entirely energy, so they will burn to various degrees based on their strength. Mirrors are often used to aim and redirect lasers even in industrial application because a large majority of the energy is bounced off of the mirror without being absorbed. However, if the laser is powerful enough, then even very well made mirrors will eventually take in too much energy and burn up, needing to be replaced. In general though, lasers do really get bounced around by mirrors like in cartoons, as long as the quality and coatings on the mirror can handle the laser.

Sorry I'm commenting as I go through the episode while cooking lol, but I love the intro thank yous and outro thank yous!

I have actually been awarded one of those giant checks twice, I was in a game design competition and I've won first place two different years and both times I had that check given to me LMAO

Also you asked the episode that lil' Gideon was introduced but I wasn't a patron member, yes he is voiced by flapjack! And Alex Hirsch the creator of gravity falls actually worked on flapjack!
