Vox Machina: S1 - FINALE!!

42:00-44:00ish I the way you react, as long as you’re having fun doing it then I enjoy watching it.

A Gremlin With The Munchies, My Time Has Come

I love your reactions. Can I recommend you watching castlevania at some point if you haven't? The show is all about vampires.

49:45 It’s an actual mask. Although, now that I think about it, it does resemble the shape of the demon’s head/face. Maybe the same vision from the demon that inspired Percy to build the gun also inspired him to build the mask. I definitely see Percy building and wearing it for purely angsty reasons though 😅

Phoebe

40:00 I think Percy misses/misfires a lot because it’s the first gun so it’s not very good (compared to what we’re used to) but he shoots better the more he upgrades his gun throughout the show

Your nails look great!

heyyy thanks for still making reactions in these trying times. It's been real fun, n I hope you're still having fun as well as taking care of yourself because that's the most important thing.

They've also released some animatic footage , so work is coming along

I believe it was said in an interview that it would come out in 2025. And they are already done recording all of the voiceover for M9 season 1, and work on season 4 of VM hasn't started yet. They wouldn't have announced the M9 animated series when they did if it was going to wait until VM was done

Merviking

I don't know if I missed something, but why do people think M9 season 1 will come out before Vox Machina is completely done? If Vox Machina season 4 is the last season, I would consider M9 season 1 as basically season 5, since it does continue the same world set a few years in the future.

I love the personalities of Vox Machina too, but yes, Mighty Nein are such an interesting set of characters! My favorites as well, quite a different vibe from Vox Machina.

Yay for reaching the end of season 1, I'm quite sure you'll love season 2! You wondered about ammo... I think a lot of DMs don't count non-special ammunition in D&D, because it's a bit tedious gameplaywise, and narratively adventuring groups tend to be powerful enough to easily have enough at hand. Percy's guns do have reload rules (and really fun misfire and fixup rules), but not really ammo count. As for the weird spinning anti-magic orb, they've sort of fast forwarded it in the show the pacing, but if I remember correctly in the campaign what you described is pretty much what they did - set up a perimeter for monitoring it at a distance. They did try to experiment with it a bit more with the party as well, though, but didn't really gain any info. And yeah, in campaign they did remain in Whitestone for a while, the show also fastforwarded that part... a bit too much in my taste, I agree it was kind of weird they just jumped away. Suntree giving Keyleth power was added to the show, not a GM custom combat thing, although Keyleth in the campaign otherwise did have a connection with the tree so there's a basis for it. As usual, the combat at the Ziggurat was somewhat adapted to the show to make it flow better as animation, and is quite different in the details of how it went. But the idea and key moments are from the campaign. Like, Keyleth's Sunbeam spell destroyed Sylas, but he needed a few beam hits over a longer period instead of one tree-powered blast. And Scanlan prevented Lady Briarwood from helping Sylas, but he counterspelled a Dimension Door instead of Silencing her. I like to think of these as different retellings of the same core story, in a way.

So fun facts, their campaign initially started out as a Pathfinder campaign verses a DND campaign, but they converted a lot of the elements of their campaign ovet to DND when they became a streaming group, and then when they became an Amazon series they edited some more for copyright issues. So..there are a lot of echoes from both sources, like the Ever Light was Seranrae(sorry spelling sucks), or Scanlan's Hand was Bigby's Hand, for example. I also recommend once you finish the stream to listening to their game play. It is just so much fun and there are a few moments that the emotions will get you too. (i recommend after incase spoilers are the worry for sure.)

ChromaScarlet

Whenever you finish this or another series, I'd really recommend watching "Castlevania" it's a similar ish fantasy adventure series and I think you'd love it

The reason why Percy was not allowed to kill Delilah is actually quite simple but perhaps not explained directly enough. Keyleth basically says it: If he kills Delilah, there probably won't be much left of Percy. Basically, with every person Percy crosses off his list, he gives more and more control to the demon. Since Delilah is one of the last people on the list, we don't know how much control Percy would have over himself after that. And we do not know whether it can be reversed if he loses control that far.

Season 3 ends this week! It'll be a bit till season 4 BUT hopefully in the next year we'll get season 1 of Mighty Nein animated, which is essentially the same thing as Vox Machina but with their second campaign (and my favorite characters :D )

Merviking

Percy makes his own ammo and has a few reloaders on the show to speed up the process otherwise it's an action to reload.
