It's her whole job, presumably on top of exorcism. I kind of think of the Exorcists as Valkyrie. That's their purpose, you know? She is unrelentingly awful, don't get me wrong. But she doesn't know any better. Emily does because her function is to be sweet and kind and empathetic. Lute's function is to hate and kill demons. You know who does know better? Adam.

Adam is an arsehole but at least he's a funny arsehole, Lute is just a bitch! Also, I can't wait for the next episode. It has the best character in it.

I don't think there was an actual uprising - it was more of a precautionary decision to prevent even the possibility that Hell might attack Heaven.
