Like the Skrull of Marvel they have the potential to take over any storyline with ease. So the question isn't about what they are, I know what they are and you'll find out eventually, or what they want. That's also known.
The question is to what level do we want them involved in things?

2024-11-05 03:10:24 +0000 UTCI voted for Buzz on the Spin because I was thinking it’d be a fun way to have them show up organically. If they have an isolationist culture of secrecy (even if it’s them hiding out and not doing anything bad). Feels like anyone on the outside has a mandate to keep the rest of their species a secret as much as possible. Maybe all on the outside are spies, but I think Octarin is a good place to have them turn up in an investigation on a relative “backwater” and have Herbert start connecting the dots. Personally I don’t think they’re necessarily into anything bad, aside from trying to have their own space and the fear they’ll be taken over or abused, but it’s still too early to tell.

2024-11-05 02:41:20 +0000 UTCI’m thinking they’re more just trying to live their life quietly and they keep getting spotted. Maybe their reclusive ways make everybody nervous about them even though they’re not doing anything shady (outside of government agents of course).
