Late last year, I was given a Carvera desktop CNC mill to try out by a Chinese startup called Makera. I did an unboxing/first use video on my second channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-l_0QYilC0
The more I used it on the iPhone enclosure milling project this year, the more I've fallen in love with it. I got to talking with Josh, the CEO of Makera, and he asked if I'd consider visiting his factory and making a video. And boy I'm glad I did. It was fascinating seeing how a Chinese startup approaches manufacturing after a successful kickstarter. They went from a few guys in an office to a full factory with 50 or so employees. While the factory itself isn't the most impressive I've been to, the story of how their making this machine as a very new company is super interesting.
This is a rough cut - the final version will be out on YouTube this weekend. I hope you enjoy it!
