The scene where the guys movement is being slowed down to show his technique is very cool. Except for the overhead slash, that was awfull technique.

Like Link Click, the entire first season is basically just setup, introducing the characters and relationships between them, presenting the power system in a relatively natural way (shown more than told). Stuff happens, but the actual antagonist isn't even alluded to until the last episodes. I feel like it gets me far more invested in the characters and the world, so I care more when it's finally under threat.

I got attached to the best samurai boi immediately and I freaking knew either him or his master was gonna die that episode but I still wasnt prepared. This series dosnt let u like side characters peacefully. Oh also the way that in his last fight, he targets his enemy's head and legs specifically. Which is what his master was scolding him about not targeting before.

Every group of characters and their stories help you kind of piece together whats going on on the island without giving much away- and the Tenza subversion is not only just cool but creates a bond between the master and Nirugai that becomes important later

Wasn't as long as I'd have liked, I've literally listened to you breakdown and roast or boast awesome anime for entire work days, so I need the lengthyness(not sure that's a word, but fuck it). But you were stupidly funny even tho you're sick. That's hard sometimes. Mad respect. Also this anime is dope. I watched the whole thing after your first vid on it. Loved it. Loved the slow burn. Loved the detailed respectful animation if the swordsman, vs the absolutely disrespectful, motion blurr "faster than you can see" animation of the gods. All of it. So dope.
